Orienteering 26:44 [3]

Sprint at Cheakamus. Fun start in urban strata townhouse complex, then across the road to a small hill with lots of tiny trails. I got so turned around and didn't stop to think, and lost too much time.

Orienteering 58:09 [3]

BC Champs Middle at Brandywine. The controls I had a plan for went really well. When I didn't have a plan, it didn't work. Also, lack of orienteering this year was evident. I did enjoy the legs where I could actually run, rather than stumble, through the woods!

Mountain Biking 3:00:00 [3] 23.0 km (7:50 / km) +634m 6:53 / km

Last day of epic Chilcotin's adventure.

Today it took us about 45 minutes to get from one end of Spruce Lake to the other... it was so boggy and gross. My climbing legs were shot and we wanted to get home at a reasonable hour, so we skipped Windy Pass/High Trail for the much more sensible, flowy, mostly downhill Gun Creek Trail. It did not disappoint... nothing like flowing downhill through alpine meadows with incredible views of the valley above and below! Pascal left us at the end to get the car from the lodge, leaving Erica and I to experience our second bear encounter of the weekend - teenage black bear on the FSR.... luckily we slowed down before the corner because of loose gravel, and he scarpered after sizing us up for a couple of seconds... lots of bell ringing after that!

Can't get enough of this incredible area! We will be back, maybe when it's not so boggy out!
