Event (SL 4- Balikera Quarry) 1:09:38 [4] *** 3.9 mi (17:51 / mi) +80m 16:47 / mi
spiked:10/15c (sick)

Rego duties again so a very early start. Again not with it but a different team were great. Didn't see much action and felt terrible leaving Kerrie B holding the fort while AmyLee and I went out - other helpers not present. Well a funny way to start - and will be remembered for quite a while by several people. Juddered to left out of the Start triangle, back and then OK over the top - rockman lurking photographing the hijinks when people who went over the top realised the vertical nature of the descent. Thought after this I am such a twit - but apparently there were a flock of twits today. Going happily along until 4 when lost about 5 minutes to Joy as we stumbled around looking for control - I must have been 5m away and not looking down. Then it was just playing leapfrog for with her for the next 3 controls then long leg she took off but I stayed steady and didn't actually lose much time. Picked the better decision/route #10-11 then she proved to be action woman #12-13 going through the green, while course setter Denis thought the preferred route was mine - along the w/c. Still she got 3 mins over me between #12 and F - well done her.
So second again (I think) by about 9mins - splits indicate time loss at #1, 4 minimal at #14 and exhaustion to #15. Would dispute #14 and can't see why there isn't time lost at #11 (must have been faster in the running bits than I thought).
Great DL courses as usual - still chuckle at S-#1.Will be interested to see Ingrid's RG course. Rain held off until about 10 mins to go - about the last 10 finishers and then it didn't last long and was a shower - not like we were expecting. Good to see an army there to collect controls.
Head wasn't as bad as yesterday but body significantly worse. Don't think I deserve tomorrow's massage but can't cancel it now!!

The spaced out nausea continues. I'll have to ask someone to point my compass for me - I think.

Event (SL 3 - Pelaw Main) 54:41 [4] *** 3.3 km (16:34 / km) +45m 15:31 / km
spiked:11/16c (sick)

Felt really terrible on the drive up and was particularly spaced out which was not good when I was at Rego. Had a great team of helpers and they/we got through.
Set off to the Start not totally sure I'd leave the Start triangle, and especially as so many people were saying how complex things were - both on the ground and on the map. So my current extra very poor brain function was going to be exposed well and truly. Feeling so bad I'd decided if I did go out I wouldn't DNF but would really only walk.
But things started off OK, despite a poor and indecisive route to #1 but #2,3,and 4 seemed quite friendly so off I set. Got an occasional trot up but felt like jelly (not to eat), but only physically so brain was OK now - go figure.
Got around with only a stupid error - DON'T look at anyone else - DO your own thing at #6. I was right, but got distracted by 2 others - who were wrong.
Made it to the finish shute and just stopped - for ages but only physical again. Not surprising as haven't felt good all week and hadn't eaten well for a couple of days.
Really enjoyed Alex's course - testing, fair and interesting. I hope he's pleased with this effort. Thanks a lot.
Back to Rego, tidy up, pack up and then realised time. Had to get home (1hr), shower, eat (1/2hr) and then to Association AGM by 7 (1/2hr). Home by around 10. Got worse again through the night - head terrible, headache, spacy still and jelly. Tomorrow is going to be... fun?
Overall happy with run, given bush exposure in past 12 months. Happy for Ingrid's result - 2nd for me by about 2 mins - and I know where they were, plus a few more but it could have been oh so much worse (sorry MessEng)

walking 25:00 [2]

Walk to pharmacy in the warm sunshine hoping it will lift my spirits. Am surprised at time - felt much slower than that. Just want to sleeeeep.

Up and over the hill and then return to deliver a letter to same no house but 2 streets away. I like their view, but it's very exposed to southerlies so I'll stay where I am - thank you. Still feeling very weak and feeble and woolly in the head.
