Event (Easter Day 1) 38:17 [4] ***

Didn't go flat out as I knew it was dangerous to lose map contact. Pleased with 1-4 and momentarily relaxed, made a rough decision to 5 and made ground fit map. Lost at least 5 mins on leg to 5 which was very costly after checking splits tonight. Never mind could have been much worse. Foot a bit sore now but not bothering me much in event.Trying to stretch it but know I'm probably losing the battle.
Best run in mining ever so quite pleased - just enough to keep you honest but not overwhelming on my course. Tomorrow is another day - as always on tender hooks in a multiday event.
Congratulations to all involved today - an excellent event, though I know you had your problems. Course just right! Lots to allow us to feel like we've achieved a just result.
Edit: placing 7th after today. Sort of disappointed given just 1 mistake and it didn't seem that big. Looks like there are some speedy clever people playing here. Perhaps a strategy could be to pull up to 5th tomorrow (up 2 places) and then repeat the dose on Day 3 to snaffle 3rd. Tomorrow is another day.

gym class (Body Step) 50:00 [4]

I really hope I'm pushing myself - even harder today until about 35 minutes. Can't afford to have to do that much warm up!!!

gym class (Step Up) 1:00:00 [4]

Geez I hope the intensity I'm feeling is indicative of effort - well it is - but I really hope I'm pushing myself over and above otherwise it is going to be VERY ugly over Easter.

Bike 21:00 [3]

Warm up and cool down.
Visit to podiatrist - new orthotics coming in 3 weeks. Woo hoo they are racing red! which will match the bank balance after paying for them.

cycle ints 11:00 [4]

Felt kinda good. Sad really.
5 PM

Strength 15:00 [3]

Was suffering withdrawal symptoms as was doing cycle ints in Altitude Room overlooking my usual Pump class. So went and did some strength/weights stuff in the gym.

Event (NOY 1 - Brush Creek) 1:02:00 [3] ***

So very hot! Was just about to go out on my course (with plans to run through finish and go out immediately on Short Moderate) when my "new" family arrived. So plans shelved for good reasons. I got them underway and went out on 3 controls of their Easy course then back to get ready for mine. Now extra hot! Feeling fifty-fifty with navigation for the course as a whole and feeling very disappointed with speed - legs felt the full brunt of yesterday's activities (I hope) and not even interested in running but a few metres. Hence some reasonable navigation - just a little wobble in 2 circles and a bit of a miss on 1 control. Just was totally slow. Glute/hip problem returned too so that's also disappointing. Just thinking "this time next week" - doesn't inspire me at all. Results looking very grim.
Great courses - as you would expect with Rob V as Planner. Best part - so close to suburbia so home quickly.
