Note
The forecast was for a stellar day, and if anything the reality exceeded--100% sun, 40s by afternoon (after a start near 0F at sunup), no wind. The path this pointed to couldn't have been clearer, and I was out at Granite Planite for some race speed O' in the very early afternoon. The highlight/lowlight was running by a fairly fresh looking, isolated head of a cow elk, stripped of all the skin and fur. Probably from some hunter's kill, and I didn't stop to look around to see where the rest of the remains might be.
