Glenflesk-Barraduff

Not a good night again with Oscar, up with him for an hour from 2.30! So slow to get out of bed this morning. And therefore not a huge time difference between breakfast and cycling. Safe plan not to do too much. Legs felt tired early on, better in the middle, and tired again on the hill up home.

Felt better than i expected cycling, didn’t feel too motivated beforehand. Also had the ‘pleasure’ of a headwind from Barraduff to Killarney. So bit of a workout in the end.

Calf didn't hurt so something positive.
Busy day though with the lads, had them around Muckross Farm before lunch and then more Muckross with the cafe and cave after lunch. All of us are tired!

Didn't really have a route in mind before I started but this worked out nicely.

Shower of rain just as I left the house but dried up quickly.

Had the forest to myself. Main road very busy with bikes today, Ring of Kerry on.

Felt ok I think on the climbs.

Weather turned shitty this morning, wasn't raining heavy, just a constant drizzle, not for the entire spin but for a bit of it. Felt cold starting out so could have done with +1 layer.

Legs were feeling tired yesterday evening but didn't feel too bad today.

Definitely quieter with bikes today due to the weather.

Branch still down on the Doo Lough path, hasn't been cleared since Wednesday. At least getting off the bike warned the 3 people just after it that I was coming their direction.

Thinking of a trip to the Ballyhouras in the coming weeks.

Legs ok but some issues that hit the energy levels. Affected the mid part of the spin around Beaufort but felt better nearing home.

Not too busy traffic wise but did get slowed in places.

Weather warm I suppose but some drops of rain on the way out.

Another negative test afterwards so haven't caught it from Mary yet.

Did put the new tyres on the road bike last night but stuck to the MTB with the weather still unpredictable.

Moving nicely. Did have a short break around Dinis to see if I could assisst an american lad that had come off his bike. His front wheel was buckled. Reason I understand was someone cycling against him, and I met a few of them today. Found his younger brother down the road who was cycling ahead and told him to head back.

Took on Torc for the 1st time in a while. According to Strava 2nd fastest time, didn't feel that bad during the climb, so happy.

Sleep hasn't been great recently, Oscar waking up to cause trouble nightly, spent about 45 minutes with him last night from about 2.30 onwards!

Mary seems a bit better today so escaped out for some fresh air. Strong wind and also got some light rain. Temperature felt ok. Legs were rested so pedalling wasn't difficult but didn't push. Still have that sniffle. Will test again this evening.

That car who passed me as I neared the main road on the way down really should have, so no surprise when they pulled out in front of somebody onto the main road then!

Note
(rest day)

Was hoping to have gotten out today for a spin on the bike but Mary still sick so only time I could have gone was after the lads were in bed. Weather brutal again at that stage so decided to stay inside. Head could have done with some fresh air.

I still don't have Covid.
