Legs recovered from Friday so that's a positive. Dry with some sun, but windy again. Arms covered, maybe didn't need to but wasn't overheating.

Had the headwind on the way out and up to Kissane's Shop, once there that really was the end of the wind more or less apart from a few short sections.

Needed to do some eating and made a mess of opening a gel, not all of it went in my mouth so had to stop to clean my hands. Sticky.

Did think about the avg speed today and knew at halfway that i'd a bit to do to get it above 30. Went to Faha from Beaufort Bridge so that hill didn't help, but had a tailwind on the Milltown road back to Killarney, and was moving fast back from Fossa to town.

Did get slowed on the Muckross Road, surprisingly Mission Road was quiet.

Need to get new tyres for the bike, back tyre patchy in places! Must get some gels too. So will order on Wednesday so they should be delivered when I get home from the holiday.

HR didn’t get too excited, feeling yesterday, glutes definitely felt tight too. That being said the legs didn’t feel desperately tired.

Park busy.

Will see what the weather is like tomorrow before I decide on which bike to get on. Also not sure how long to go for so will see how I feel.

Head wanted to do this but don't think the body was on the same wavelength. Hard to know what to make of the spin, its km in the legs at the end of the day.

Got hit by a few showers so stopped early to put jacket on, off again after Lissyviggeen, and on again after Glenflesk where it stayed on until Kenmare.

Didn't really make best use of the wind on the way out. And then from Loo Bridge to Kenmare I'd a really strong headwind. Body in no mood to suffer so basically just got through it until a break at Kenmare.

The break wasn't part of the plan but despite a lot of eating en route, I needed something. 500ml of lucozade and sugars stabilised but didn't increase. Probably a unit or 2 too much of insulin at lunch, but that being said I didn't take that much at lunch, plus i'd lunch.

Liked the wind for most of the spin up to Molls Gap. And definitely had the benefit of it on the spin home from the top. My legs weren't too bad though, I think taking it easier into the wind earlier probably helped.

Got a bit damp after Molls Gap too but I just put the head down and went for home.

Overall a bit disappointed in how I felt but my training hours including this for the last week would be above average, but longest spin this year by a nice margin, and looking back, I didn't do this route last year. Should be an easy time to improve on next attempt.

Bit more trails this evening towards the end. Meeting this morning and weather forecast was better for the afternoon. Still windy though. Lot of breeze the last few days.

Legs felt tired. Not a good sign for something long tomorrow but to be expected after time spent on the bike in recent weeks.

There was an ambulance, paramedics jeep, garda car and mountain rescue near the Abbey. The mountain rescue jeep was parked on my usual run along the path by the lake. Don't know what happened, haven't seen anything in the local news.

Calf starting to feel more normal but no plans to run until middle of next week.

Dry, but lots of wind about. Can't say it slowed me too much, but could feel it. Think more crosswind than a headwind.

10.58 for the climb so not much different than the last time. Wind more noticeable on the higher part. Near the top met a cyclist coming down the hill so that certainly provided incentive for the way back down.

Had some issues with motor bikes at the cafe but other than that i'd a good decent, including passing a car at Derrycunnihy. PR back towards Muckross so definitely had to be a tailwind of some sorts. Caught the bike too after the tunnel and passed him, not moving as fast as I expected him to. Kept me moving towards home too.

Legs a bit tired at times but not too bad. Might go long again on Friday depending on the weather.

Got out for a spin after work.

Didn't wear a jacket but probably should have, did wear a gilet though with the wind. Got wet around Dinis, heavy fall for a few seconds, then lighter. Dried up in time for the spin up the road home! Windy too. The weather pushed me on a bit, wasn't hanging around to get soaked.

Stuck to the road for Dinis to speed things up, right decision.

Loop around the National Park in town and in Muckross. Did the Circle loop in Knockreer and along the track through the Game Wood.

Wore jacket as some drizzle going at times.

Was getting a small bit tired later in the spin but not too bad, yesterday was an easy day after all, despite the travelling.

Busy in places so that interrupted things every now and again.

Was a bit freaky when a branch fell off a tree to my right as I went along the small trail just before the road into Muckross House.
