Ran on the assumption that it was ok to do so as that was what the physio said.
Calf did not like running, so a painful run. Inside of the calf is the issue. Seemed to hurt less on softer ground.
Don't know what to do, leave it or go back to physio.

Out on the bike not that long after breakfast but stomach was fine with it. Wasn’t feeling too energetic, tired after yesterday.

Not that busy at this hour of the morning.

Will try a run tomorrow.

Gap of Dunloe - Lord Brandons Cottage

Collected the MTB wheels from the bike shop this morning, and wasn't charged. David wasn't happy with them both being loose for the amount ridden. So took them for a (long) test spin. Have some hours to take for work so no better way to spend them.

Did an extra bit in Knockreer to start off with before heading out the Fossa Way. Busy enough in terms of people but I wasn't going too fast. Wanted to keep the HR around 140. Was concerned that after Fossa that the HR didn't want to go above 140, but the Gap of Dunloe righted things.

Happy enough with how the Gap went, not too busy. There was a car in front of me nearing the top which wasn't going away from me. Caught it at the top and it wouldn't let me by for a long time on the descent despite my gesticulations! That slowed me when i'd gravity in my favour. It had a yellow back reg plate, and saw a few of them around today.

More people around the Black Valley.

Then had a Trek flapjack bar before Lord Brandons cottage. A few people on the path close to the cottage but then had a long gap before i met anyone else. Dismounted to take the bridge over the river rather than trying to ride through.

Back onto the main road and towards home. Did put a bit more effort in here than earlier in the spin, I was closer to home. Detoured via Muckross House too to get home.

Sun was shining when I left home but got cloudier, so think i'd have preferred to have my arms covered which i'd chosen not to do leaving the house.

Glenflesk-Barraduff

Was considering my options leaving the office as it was nasty rain wise in Tralee, and for part of the drive home. One of my colleagues said the weather might be different in Killarney, I was sceptical, but they were right. Dry but could see rain in the hills.

Got going as quickly as I could but had a damp start around Lough Guitane as there was rain falling along by the lake, so that spurred me on along here. Dried up then closer to Glenflesk but with more drops falling around Headford I stopped at the pub to swap gilet for jacket. Right call as despite only a few light drops here and there on the way back to Killarney, it was wet in Killarney.

Headwind too back towards Killarney but was happy with how I was moving into it.

Traffic heavy enough on the Killarney-Mallow road which I wasn't too keen on for parts.

Forecast is alright for tomorrow so might take a couple of hours owed to me and do something a bit longer. Don't plan on running until Saturday as not sure i've time to train on Sunday unless I get out before breakfast i'd say.

ahr:152 max:168 weight:74kg shoes: Salomon Speed Cross 5

Not a bad day, some wind, think from the west, moved ok into it and had the benefit coming home. Traffic alright in Killarney.

Calf feeling ok pedalling so that's a positive. Pushed a bit in places for different reasons which is fine. Bike in front of me passed the car place after Beaufort Bridge so that provided something to chase.

Lots of kids from Fossa primary school on the cycle lanes when I passed through in both directions, so stuck to the road.

Physio 1:00:00 [0]
(rest day)

Calf is just tight, I kind of expected that, had improved beforehand but needed to be seen.

Right calf not as tight.

Usual story.

Can run if I want, but I don't think I do for a few days more.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Sent physio a message so will see when she gets back to me.

Will rest today and tomorrow. Then get on the bike from Wednesday I think.
