Went up via Crohane Lake, keeping on the right side of the hill along by the lake. Wasn't that difficult getting up from where I parked. Met a guy in a car there wondering if he could get to Stoompa, no idea if he made it or not but gave him a few pointers in terms of accessing the mountain.

Crossed the top of the lake and started climbing to the lower west top of Crohane. Walked a bit of this. Then a bit of a descent to a saddle, across a fence, and then onto the last climb to the top of Crohane. Walked this as it was steep.

Runnability was good high up. Also weather was great.

On the way back down i'd a location for 6 from my IOC course so headed to there to get back on the map. After that went to 9, 10 and took the other option to 11 that I decided against during the race. I definitely chose the wrong option on the day.

Then back to the track and ran the track down from the IOC finish to where i'd parked the car.

Enjoyable day out.

Think this went alright. Avg speed on the right side of 30. Some wind on the way up but good conditions overall.

Turning onto the main road I saw at least one bike coming from town so wasn't sure if they'd catch up with me or not, it was some motivation anyways. Legs were fine once warmed up.

11.10 for Ladies View so the wrong side of 11 again, but need a few more goes to get faster, something to aim for next time.

Passed 4 bikes after the lake but they were touring with bags on board.

There was a water stop for some cycle at Molls Gap. Not sure what thought. Did see a table with chocolate bars like you'd see at a GAA match so was wondering if a stall was operating from the car park, but after coming back past to go home I saw a sign for water stop.

Descent went fine, almost a clear run at it, apart from spotting 2 deer on the road after the cafe so braked, didn't know what they were going to do. They stayed still for the tourists who were on the other side of the road taking pictures of them. Clear again after that.

Warm today but a bit of wind blowing, definitely warmer than the last few days. I was even glad Mary turned the heating on for a bit!

Legs feeling good today too so happy with that. Think the few bonus rest days this week has helped, probably got rid of any lingering tiredness from last week too. That's tiredness with my legs, in general sleep has been bad, I have 2 boys who are up around 6, does not help!

Think i'm getting over the last couple of days so will see how I am tomorrow.

(rest day)

Bit of a sniffle so taking it easy. Had to even if I wanted to as went into the office and got stuck there 2 more hours than i'd intended!

Oscar has a touch of something and I think Tuesday night can be included in the blame too.

Randomly without a plan apart from where I was starting. Made it up as I went along.

Not a nice day, wet. That being said I think the last 5-10 minutes were bad but before that I think I got a lull in the weather. So could have been worse.

They are replacing the footbridges on the path to the left as you enter Bluepool so should be able to let the lads loose on them when they are finished. Wouldn't have trusted them on the old bridges (planks with no rails).

Forest I chose to cut back across to the MTB track to get me back to the car was fine in shorts.

Body definitely feeling more energetic today than yesterday.

Have been lax on the plans front recently so best get back to it. That being said if I had a future goal that might help with plans, whether it be a cycling goal or a running goal. I do think I need to up the distance on the road bike, just in case some sportive comes along that I fancy.

Tuesday - Rest
Wednesday - Bike
