Long loop of Dinis

Felt like a longer than normal run so was happy to run for an hour with no real issues. Sunny again but windy. Nice conditions though.

Bad fires in the National Park, knew I was heading in the direction where they burned but wasn’t expecting both sides of the road in to Dinis to be burned. Also some burning very close to Dinis Cottage and on the other side of it too. Could see the fires still burning high up on Tomies. So that’s a very large area that has been burned.

Plenty of people walking and cycling around the place.

Note
(rest day)

Erik’s ‘party’ today?
So no time for training. Two of them were hyper. Meant I’d my dinner ready for the Munster match as had to put them to bed early they were so tired.
Good day.

Also looks like new bike day in early June.

Muckross

From home as car had a flat tyre. No time to change to the spare as Erik’s Paw Patrol birthday cake needed to be collected. Had a very quick sprint earlier too down a hill. Erik picked up a good bit of speed down said hill on his new balance bike and ended up tumbling off. He was ok. Had to realign the bike’s handlebars.

Calf, right, I thought felt a tiny bit tight this morning but no issues running.

Route had climb to start and finish with but a mix of surfaces.

Sun out but windy again today, did brave the elements in shorts & tshirt, so can’t have been that bad today.

Sunny day but very windy. Knew it was going to be tough on the bike, both in terms of pedalling into the wind and actually staying upright.

Had the wind at my back on the way out so getting home then from Beaufort Bridge was tough.

Stop/Go system still in operation at the brewery/distillery. The lad let me off ahead of the convoy vehicle, exposed section here, so that took a bit of effort. Was actually hoping to get a tow from the convoy vehicle.

Some parts were worse than others, shelter and direction important.

Calves felt a bit stiff this morning but improved for this.

Glanageenty (long lap)

Bit stiff after being in the car for 5 hours before this, almost 300km driven today, all within the county. So took a change of scenery in running terms since I was out and about.

Lovely day for a run, weather changed for the good.

Legs alright running but when I stopped in Killarney on the way home to pick up Erik's birthday present could feel the quads, so think they will be suffering tomorrow.

Strava says a PR for the loop so must have been running ok, not that i've that loop done too many times. The hills felt hard, but then again they are steep hills.

Recent additions include a unicorn and a snake.

Note
(rest day)

Not feeling too bad today, body did feel tired yesterday evening as I spent over 3 hours driving after lunch. Longer to do tomorrow plus must fit a run in, option could be do it somewhere en route.

Longer episode to finish a short series. More politics rather than the battle in the 4th episode.

Thought i'd struggle was legs feeling tired this morning but went more or less ok. I suppose i've managed to avoid the turbo for a couple of weeks so a change of scene.
