Bluepool
#cOvidchallenge set by the IOA

Decided to do it in the 1 run, only way i'd do it.
All the odd manual laps spell the word O-R-I-E-N-T-E-E-R-I-N-G
Think some worked better than others, slight variation between map which is meant to be oriented north and the GPS. G being the worst letter, think the GPS to blame here, did come back onto the path in a slightly different place but not by that much.

Run was more entertaining than usual though.

Had maps prepared of all the letters and put them in a pdf on the phone, so used that to remember what I needed to run. Did plan them ahead, and not all letters needed as much map reading.

Note
(rest day)

Day off as planned.
Body needs it, just to give itself a chance of improving.

Looking damp for the morning, if dry I’d take Erik in the buggy but have an alternative option planned too, #cOvidchallenge

Cycling 1:06:03 [3] 32.54 km (2:02 / km) +103m 2:00 / km
ahr:158 max:179 weight:73kg shoes: Spiuk ZS11

Not logging this under the Beaufort loop due to a puncture in the last couple of kilometres. Maybe it was there for longer as don't feel like today was a good spin, felt ok, but HR high and avg. speed low. So not sure really, could just be the lack of cycling and cooler temperatures on the bike. That being said it was a nice day for a spin.

Two tractors passed me, one on the way out and one on the way back in, on the Fossa Road, did try to up my speed to draft off them but HR went very high very fast so calmed myself down.

Also felt my breathing was under pressure nearing home too.

Busy afternoon after lunch too, lots of manual handling in 'my' training room. Clearing it out as a plasterer coming in tomorrow to do the room. Someone other than my gear/bikes will soon be residing in the room, he better appreciate it.

ahr:154 max:175 shoes: Spiuk ZS11

This started as a walk with the bike after puncturing, got as far as I could before getting off. Started walking and then decided that maybe the tyre would take some air if I pumped it. Thankfully it did so cycled up the hill home then.

Squelch, squelch, squelch
A lot of water around, not too much falling from the sky, but plenty on the ground and i'd say going over Torc Waterfall by the look of the river.

Scared a woman after the Upper Torc car park, can't imagine she expected to meet anyone today. Did see another chap on a trail going the opposite direction to me too.

A mix of small trails, big trails, ups and downs, along with some cross country. So a nice combination overall.

Feeling ok. Legs did feel tired for the last 10 minutes. Left insole also slipped in the shoe so that was a small bit uncomfortable, but made less so by the wet shoes.

Think it was a squirrel that ran over and back on the road near the car park, not sure, too far away for my eyesight. Some deer in the woods too. Also saw possibly some form of bird of prey up on the highest part of the run, flew away, so hard to identify, not that i'd recognise it anyways.

Note
(rest day)

Was in the office today so no training.
That was the plan.

Did use some energy pumpkin carving!

ahr:152 max:171 shoes: New Balance 890 v8 (red)

Nice day for a run. Although breeze around Torc was strong, thankfully the few drops of rain here only lasted a minute.

Will see how the body is after this, felt happy enough running so felt recovered.

Passed a stag by the lake early on, disturbed his eating, he popped his head up and still had grass hanging from his mouth.

Other than that it wasn’t too busy. Legs ok.
