Vikings S0? E04

Could feel right calf a small bit and with the weather a bit sketchy plus naps to be fitted in, not by me sadly, I went on the bike. Probably the sensible option for the calf.

Was woken by Storm Ciara before 3, didn’t sound pleasant outside, wind and rain battering the window with thunder going too. Didn’t wake anyone else then.

Happy with the effort but did need a bit of focus. Last part of the episode I didn’t like so that didn’t help get the spin done either.

We managed to get out last night to Pat Shortt, orienteering got a mention in a poem he recited (as a Garda) about a St Patrick’s day parade!

Muckross Lake

Parked at Torc and ran clockwise for a change. Definitely best time of the day to go running. Desperate from noon onwards.

Legs felt a bit tired later in the run and right calf sketchy. Not painful but know it’s there. Physio Monday definitely needed. Will see whether I run again tomorrow.

Saw a red squirrel where the track and road meet between the lakes. Other than the squirrel I had the road to myself from Torc as far as the rowing club.

Was looking back at my log from the Summer of 09 last night. My life was very different back then! Felt like someone else was writing the training updates. That being said I’m still up at 3.30 in the morning but for very different reasons. I suppose on the up side I cycle faster now than I did 10 years ago, so I’ll take that positive.

Breaking Bad S03 E06

Avg Cadence = 100rpm

Tired! But that's not a surprise. Busy at work too which isn't helping with recovery, that's where I go to relax.

This spin went alright though, went by quickly enough, so glad I did it. Might try and get out for a run pre-breakfast tomorrow and on Sunday depending on what Storm Ciara is doing with itself.

Note
(rest day)

Another trip to Tipperary.

Tired as sleep continues to allude us. So training not a good idea. Think i've managed to avoid the light cold getting worse or heading to the chest. But the lack of sleep means that I'm probably not out of the woods just yet.

Muckross

Plan for the week isn’t going to plan. Still feeling tired, up every 3 hours overnight with Oscar. And cold just about lingering. It was a lovely afternoon so after missing out last night I felt obliged to run.

Legs are suspect. Not trusting right calf and managed to annoy left ankle too. Ankle could have been helped by having a torch which I didn’t bother with.

(rest day)

Cold hasn't got worse but tired. Sleep interrupted again last night and looks like it will be for the rest of the week so not worth expending energy training when recovery will be affected. Gives the ankle and calf a break too.

Note
(rest day)

No training today as have to take a family trip (minus Erik) to Tipperary. Also seem to have a light cold. So will see how that goes. Have been minding myself and don't think i've pushed things. But sleep has been bad the last couple of weeks which probably hasn't helped.
