Lap of Lough Guitane & Muckross Roads

Got out between the heavy showers. Left ankle still dodgy. Didn’t do anymore damage to it. Right calf suspect, no pain, but could feel it at times. With the ankle trouble it can’t be helping.

Pace again faster than I’d have liked which is probably contributing to the calf, slower would be better, but with a downhill start that ups the pace. I tend to maintain whatever I start with sometimes. Even with the few ramps up it didn’t really slow things.

Muckross

Thought I might have been pushing the running buggy but got out on my own.

Pace faster than I wanted, knew I was running faster than I wanted but couldn’t manage to slow down! Right calf I noticed near the end but not in a bad way.

Tried for as much road as possible with some track near the turning point. Ankle was taped to be sure, needed it for stability. No major issues with the ankle, felt it a couple of times. Must go off road in this area soon, need to find a map to make the most of it.

Met plenty of people out walking on what was a nice morning.

Breaking Bad S03 E05

Avg Cadence = 100rpm (graph is mainly flat, so constant pedalling)

Nearly caved but managed to motivate myself to do something. Interrupted night of sleep but that's nothing new, and felt ankle might need a break as it was a bit sore today. But in the end got on the bike.

Despite not really being in the mood it turned out to be a better spin than the last couple so getting back into the swing of things. Needed to focus towards the end to finish off the episode.

Physio on Monday i've had to postpone so will have to see when that gets done.

Muckross

Annoyed, had a good 5k to start off with, nice evening, legs feeling fine, steady pace, and then went over on the left ankle, more so than the weekend. Big roll. Hurt a good bit and track from there for a bit wasn’t road so that didn’t help matters. Ouch, run a bit, ouch, and repeat. Not too bad when eventually back on a road as opposed to a track.

Hard to know how the other leg is as it definitely compensated for the ankle. Think I’ll have to keep the weekend runs on the road.

Random comedy from the internet, 2 different episodes, 1 better than the other.

Avg Cadence = 98rpm

Feeling grand this evening and possibly the short break to find something else to watch helped. Episode of breaking bad I had planned to watch only lasted 30 seconds so need to remedy that.

Legs feeling a small bit tired today. Physio arranged for Monday.

Golf Course

Impressed by the terrier who normally barks at me at the end of St Margaret’s Road. He didn’t have a lot of room to play with but coming at speed he managed to fit his head through the gap in the bars in the gate while coming to a stop. Tight.

Kept it handy but think I somehow managed to up the pace through the golf course. Think my brain had really wandered at that stage, was thinking of marathons! Very silly brain, does it not remember the general pain of running. Speaking of which, went looking for physio next week, long overdue.

Overall legs weren’t too bad this evening but not trusting my calves.

Cold evening, but had enough layers. Also ran with no torch. Was dark when I finished though. Unlikely I’ll do the same on Thursday but evenings are beginning to stretch.
