Note
(injured) (rest day)

Taking it easy at home today. Calf not feeling too bad and will get some physio on Tuesday.

When putting Erik down for a nap before lunch I managed to have a nap of my own! Don’t have them too often during the day. Erik behaved himself last night but Oscar was less settled so maybe recovering from that.

Road (Buggy) 30:08 [1] 3.83 km (7:52 / km) +29m 7:35 / km
ahr:106 max:148 (injured) shoes: New Balance 890 v6

Lovely evening so decided to take Erik out in the buggy for a run. Was all going grand but left calf gave up after 1.4km. So walked the rest. So another happy training session. Back to the bike if I’ve the time.

Erik fell asleep towards the end so looks like the buggy at least is comfortable enough for that. Although will have to see if it was the walking that facilitated the sleep or if he’ll sleep in it when it’s moving quicker.

(rest day)

When they say you’ll be going home in the morning it really means lunch time. At least we got out.

No time for training, not sure when I will. It’s difficult with 2.

Another day in the hospital. And still Mary is in isolation. Meant she was given a private room so it does come with benefits. Will be going home in the morning so might try and get some fresh air tomorrow evening but could well be Saturday before I manage that.

Not much you can do while sitting around a hospital. Just wondering every now and again what sort of person has come in to see Mary hidden behind a gown and a mask since Mary is still in isolation for fear she has the ‘flu’. If they could get the finger out and get her test results back they’d save themselves a lot of bother getting dressed every time they come into the room.

Oscar Daniel Burke
Born this evening weighing 3.96kg (8lbs 12oz)

Mother & baby both doing fine.

Will have an older brother to contend with at times so hopefully one or the other Burke will be IOC champion in a few years!

Note
(rest day)

Sitting down pretty much all day apart from a very short stroll across the road so definitely a rest day. Plan postponed by 24 hours due to Patient 0 (also called Erik) passing the bug/virus he had the end of last week on to Mary! No sign I’ve caught it so may have dodged one.
