Note
(rest day)

In Limerick for the Munster match. Bit extra walking to/from the stadium due to kick off being delayed by 3 hours due to water on the pitch. Not impressed for this to only be announced less than 30 minutes before the official kick-off time.

parkrun with Mary

Approx 20 seconds slower than a couple of weeks ago in tougher conditions. So not doing too badly.

Muckross

Decided to run home. Must admit it wasn’t the most direct route home from Muckross House. First few kilometres I was surprised at the pace, slow, didn’t think I was doing too badly but maybe I was thinking I was going faster than I thought after parkrun pace!

Consciously tried to pick up the pace and succeeded in that for the last few kilometres. Running was better for them anyways as went through the limestone area which would have slowed me down. Also a bit flooded getting back out onto the road.

Left Achilles definitely not feeling great. Skin also looking redder on that side than the right.

Narcos S02 E05

After a long day in the car around south kerry, with a short walk up Bray Head thrown in to start the day, was tired when I got home.

Got onto the bike and actually went better than expected. Feeling better for the exercise.

Heavy shower getting changed so had to move into the car to finish getting changed. But was dry when I got back out and stayed mostly dry for the run. Chilly though.

Wet enough on the paths and grass soft. Lake looking fairly high too.

Legs mostly ok I think but more managing the issues rather than any improvement.

Episode was a few minutes longer than Tuesday so had extra time to pedal, and again felt under pressure towards the end. Sweating buckets at that stage anyway.

Nice homemade cottaqe pie ready for when I got off the bike, and enough leftovers to last me 2 days.

Knockreer

Had planned to run so ran. Storm Fionn on the way and lots of hail showers going this afternoon. Started running in the dry and also finished in dry weather but in between had to deal with some hail. And heavy hail too.

Running into the hail to start the circuit loop was not fun, couldn’t see so a bit difficult. Also after turning back along the river when the hail started it wasn’t hurting at that stage but visibility very poor.

Calves mostly ok but could feel right one at times and let Achilles aswell. Not too comfortable.

Note

Calves, right in particular are tight today. Could feel them after tightening up last night and foam rolling them wasn't fun. Quads tired as opposed to sore.

Monday - Turbo (probably recovery more than anything)
Tuesday - Run
Wednesday - Turbo
Thursday - Run
Friday - Turbo
Saturday - Run
Sunday - Rest (in Limerick at Munster Match)

Got through this in the end. Definite burn in the quads so they were feeling the weekend, but positive that I got through with possibly a 30 second break after around 35 minutes but who's counting. Calves stil tight but starting to feel better I think.

Was chatting to my brother-in-law yesterday and we were discussing Narcos. Father-in-law then chimed in to say Pablo Escobar was killed.
Thanks for spoiling the ending ;-)
