Heidelberg South (calling it a south as the plan is to run north in the morning)

Short warm up before the run kicked up sharply. Steps up to the schloß. Some road then before a lot more steps. These hurt an awful lot, resorted to walking a couple of times. They went on forever. In fog too so felt never ending. Can't say they were an accident though, had done some research on Strava.

After the top I went on a bit before descending a lot more gradually until back near the castle again where I dropped a bit steeper on a nice path. Then took the road home to avoid going down the steps. Did walk down them later after visiting the schloß. They almost force you to get the furnicular railway up to it, same price in whether you take the train or not.

Not a very fast run but think I paced it right. Managed the rest of the day's activities which included ice skating.

Also run was a small bit stop start, checking the map on the phone as didn't have a paper copy.

Breaking Bad S02 E08

Decided not to run today for 3 reasons:
1. Didn't want to push the legs too much after yesterday.
2. Packing running shoes for Germany
3. Weather wasn't nice

Felt grand though pedalling away. Time passed quickly enough too.

Muckross

Went out with the Kerry Trail Runners this evening, 7 of us in total.

Garmin said 74% when I tested it before leaving home, decided to wear Forerunner this evening, but after getting satellites it decided that the battery was low. Didn't last much longer than that.

Run went over to Blue Pool, a long and short lap, then down through the Arboretum to go the short loop around dundag, and back to the car which was at the 1st car park.

Pace was nice and easy throughout, but late in the run my legs definitely were feeling tired. Also they stiffened up after a couple of the regrouping breaks.

Ankles decided to be awkward this evening, went over on them a few times. Had them taped so avoided too much pain.

Was a really nice evening for running, cold at around 3 degrees, but clear and there was a full moon. Turned off the torch passing Muckross House on the way back for a short section, didn't need it with the moon light.

Planet Earth II - Cities
Great documentary series. Well worth watching.

Quads still a bit on the tired side. And generally tired. So did consider giving this a miss but went for it in the end. Last 10 minutes was a struggle.

Planet Earth II - Grasslands

Legs feeling ok, some soreness in quads. Was a sweaty session!

Must adjust the cadence sensor to stop the speed part of it as its recording distance, I don't want that. Cadence is all I'm after.

HR sensor a bit on the blink too, was saying 200 when I switched it on yesterday and a max of 223 today.
