Note
slept:8.0 (rest day)

Bit of a walk around Richmond.

Then home from London. Relaxing done.

And was rubbish with looking after my legs, no stretching done at all!

Rugby in Twickenham, Ireland were rubbish.

Saw Nick Frost in the pub afterwards, got asked by someone to take a picture of them with him. He's a big lad!

Went to Kew Gardens in the morning, had some nice chocolate cake. Then off to the circus in the evening, fantastic entertainment, really enjoyed it.

Note
slept:6.5 (rest day)

Did a couple of hours walking this afternoon, uphill and then down, few ditches to get across.

Now off to London for the weekend with no garmin packed, so no training on the cards. Break will hopefully do the legs some good. Didn't bring the foam roller but will try to get some stretching done.

Tough start, mentally and physically. Headwind into town, legs were tired, and was lacking motivation.

Easier pedalling once up Woodlawn so that got me moving better. The rest of the spin I didn't struggle like I did at the start. Disappointed with the start, but a few factors counting against me. Coming home from Barraduff was better than I thought it would be, was thinking there'd be a tough headwind, definitely noticed it by Glenflesk GAA club. Also some new surfacing beyond the GAA club, resurfacing what they resurfaced a couple of months ago. So was definitely careful on that section and was wary of flying chips from passing cars.

Bit of walking tomorrow afternoon planned for work so that'll handy, also up near Lough Guitane so close to home.

Only 5.5km short of 400km on the bike for the last week, that sounds good.

Time slightly behind where i'd have liked it to be.

Bit of a headwind on the way up.

Legs tired at times.

Looking at the climb time it's slower than recently, probably 30 seconds down. Didn't feel too bad doing it though. So think I lost some time getting going, felt a bit slow towards Torc. Legs needed to warm up.

Changed garmin edge recording to 1 second, don't see an immediate difference.

Serious bacon and cabbage dinner, lot of bacon left over, lunch for the next couple of days. Good times! Will have to double up on sandwiches tomorrow to get through it.

Only 1 more session before some well earned rest.

Going to skip running this week and give the achilles a break. Taking a training break for a few days at the end of this week so that does help, otherwise I wouldn't be contemplating not running. Body is tired today but not that bad which is surprising. Was way worse last Monday. That being said I do plan to cycle later and would expect that not to be easy but sure we'll see what happens.

Monday - Cycling (Beaufort)
Tuesday - Cycling (Ladies View)
Wednesday - Cycling (might see if Jason is interested in a spin)
Thursday - Rest (London)
Friday - Rest (London)
Saturday - Rest (London)
Sunday - Rest (London)

Cycling plans are weather dependent.

Off to do some training but wasn't sure what would happen legs wise. Was surprised with what was in my legs after yesterday, plenty. Had a head wind out to Beaufort and then a nice tail wind home.

Managed to avoid the heavy showers which was a bonus. Roads in Muckross were damp so legs got a bit of spray starting off down the hill but was dry in town and out Fossa direction.

Into the wind HR was in a comfortable area and felt like I was making nice progress. The hill up from the bridge after turning was harder than usual, but that was probably the most noticeable area where the legs were tired. Quads felt a bit iffy starting off but better once warmed up.

Overall definitely happy with this spin after yesterday. Head was sore though before I headed out, probably tired after the early start yesterday and work today.

Remembered heading back from Fossa that I meant to change the GPS recording on the bike from Smart Recording to Every Second. Wonder will that make a difference to distance on my regular routes, we shall see.
