Spin into town to meet the Killarney Club. Lad from the club met me with a membership form, so will have to get that filled in at some stage. Legs not feeling too bad.
HUMID evening.

Killarney-Killorglin-Milltown-Muckross
The pace was hot tonight!!! Just like the temperature. Felt it was a bit faster than usual from the start. Had a bit of an obstacle course getting out of Killarney, traffic a bit manic due to the races. Squeezed around a few and once onto Mission Road it was plain sailing.
Eventually got to the front after Fossa, on the descent to Beaufort Bridge and there was a shout to ease up. Wasn't too impressed since it was downhill and the lads on the front before then had been pushing it. Anyways kept on going, and then the pace went up again around Ballymalis. Conor and another lad made a break before Killorglin town, and I took Mike's wheel since I didn't know where they were sprinting to.
After the roundabout the pace was slow until Milltown as 1 lad was off the back. Things were nice and calm going up the hill out of Milltown but then near the top Conor and the other lad went again so I took off after them. Legs definitely not 100% for the bike, lacking a bit of kick. We dropped everyone else and didn't wait up. So it was pretty much all out for 75% of the time all the way back to Killarney, tough. I did lead up the hill out of Faha and was happy with my effort there. Other than that there was a few switches on the front, effort was shared. No talking.
On the rise before Fossa Conor went off on a break so I did the chasing, got him on the descent and was flying down the hill to the junction. Maxed at 60.6kph here! Then the pace was a bit more relaxed back to Killarney before it kicked off again. Conor is really strong, and only done his leaving cert. Fair play to him.
Legs were fairly bollocksed going home on my own, getting out of the saddle was an issue. But glad to have done it, good training!
