slept:9.0 (rest day)

Letting the body recover again today.

Was a very lazy day too. Did watch some of the GPS coverage of NM Staffet, mens race looked close, this morning.

Weather was poor enough this morning and tonight, so good choice to stay indoors and pretty much eat.

Was out marshalling in dingle this morning. Serious crew turned up, Canice only 3rd up the Conor Pass. So reckon they'll do a decent time for the 150km. We'd help from a mtb Garda at the Milltown roundabout, he was taking no shit. Then myself and tony had the lateeve junction to ourselves, stopped a few cars for the cyclists.

Chest feeling a small bit better today but throat was sore when I woke up, dispirin time and strepsils. So hoping for more improvement tomorrow.

On the up side being a small bit off form means I don't train, right knee was extremely painful on the drive back from Dingle.

Won't tick the 'ill' box but won't train today either.
Not feeling fantastic but have felt a lot worse in the past. At least it's another easy day tomorrow and we'll see what happens on Sunday.

Must keep the focus on stretching the quads too. Some of the new ones i've been trying out are fun!

Tralee-Castleisland-Farranfore-Tralee

Damp this evening, looked ok earlier but drizzle started around 6. Put on the jacket but didn't get drowned, although there was a fair bit of spray coming off the older sections of road.

Just myself, Chalkey and Rob out tonight, where were all the other lads? Pussies, couldn't handle a bit of damp. Rob was loving it, the one night you wouldn't expect him to show he did. So the 3 of us basically took turns for the entire spin. And by the looks of things we did an alright job considering the avg speed was 35.1kph. Also got a PR to Castleisland, tailwind.

The headwind back from Farranfore was strong, was really tough on the front on the way back. The new bypass gives no shelter.

I'm hoping I won't be ticking the ill box tomorrow...chest feeling a bit sketchy but still went out on the bike.

Avg Cadence = 90 rpm

Bit damp this evening so stayed indoors. Felt grand on the bike. Back to the end of Series 2 of Game of Thrones, but it was an hour long episode and didn't fancy watching all of it.

Physio 1:00:00 [0]
slept:7.0

Tough session, a bit of pain, bearable on the backs of my legs but some touchy spots on the quads.

Need a bit more movement in the legs, 20-30 degrees more. So shown a few more different stretches which I'll get stuck into tomorrow night.

So what to do with myself this week. Been doing a bit of thinking over the weekend with regards to what I need to do to sort my legs out, whether that is to rest completely or train + plenty stretching.

Don't have the problem of needing to recover after Galway as the legs didn't get pushed, pain put the brakes on running too much, but at least I was sensible and didn't try to ignore the pain (too much). At least the Connacht Champs are postponed until November, didn't fancy racing next Sunday.

Weather today looks damp so might stay indoors on the turbo trainer for a session. No idea what the weather is like for the rest of the week so will plan as if it will be good all week.

Monday - Turbo Trainer
Tuesday - Physio (Rest)
Wednesday - Cycling
Thursday - Cycling
Friday - Running
Saturday - Rest, helping at the Chain Gang Sportive (www.thechaingangsportives.com)
Sunday - Maybe cycling

One of my Donegal cousins ended up in hospital, so went to visit him in Tralee General after work.

Rest will do my sore knees/quads good anyway.
