Had throught about a longer cycle but felt this spin would be more in line with the taking it easy after WOC plan. Although I didn't take it too easy out there, happy with avg speed over 30.

Speed felt good to Glenflesk, was wondering if there was a tailwind, found out there was when I turned into the wind at Barraduff.

Legs felt ok, left knee still isn't right but wasn't bothering me cycling, could feel a slight bit of pain but not a worry.

Bike was making an awful amount of noise, an embarrassing amount. Will have to get it sorted, was going to last week but mechanic in Top Bike was on holidays. Don't think i'll be cycling next week so will think about it again.

*did manage to keep in the big ring for the spin, hills home were actually ok.

Stayed in Limerick last night and this morning was a tourist for a while, visited St Johns Castle. That attraction needs some investment, not the best visit. Could be done a whole lot better, and whole area around there needs money, would be a real medieval quarter.

Then went to the shops and had a look around the Milk Market.

We were thwarted in our attempts to have afternoon tea in Adare Manor on the way back, a private event was on.

It would be nice if I could take the next 2 weeks off, get BBC interactive and just watch Olympics.

Taking it easy today and probably for the rest of the weekend too. Aches that were in my legs last night after running are gone this morning, apart from left ankle which is feeling weak. Stretching last night I had big trouble trying to do my left quad, knee hurt a lot when I tried to stretch, and for a small bit afterwards. Nearly 2 weeks after the event it's still not fixed. Wasn't any trouble running or since the bump. Still a bit of a lump there.

Muckross

Easy run around Muckross. Wore new runners, think they got a few looks from passers by:-) They stood out against the black gear I was wearing. Was a nice evening, for a change, and for the 1st time since I got back from Switzerland I've got a view from my sitting room window for the evening.

Went out to the limestone area in front of Muckross House and this is where the trouble started, not long onto these paths I went over on my left ankle. Didn't have them taped this evening! So suffered for the next km or so but wasn't terribly bad. Then onto the road and back along the lake heading towards Killarney. Followed a path parallel to the main path and think I went over on my ankle again as it got weaker.

Finally got back to the car, drove down the hill to save myself 2 miles on the road and allowing myself more running time in the Park. Legs feeling alright, not tired, but some niggles in calves at times and right hip flexor late on.

It appears the GPS file for the start of the route is a bit off!
Edit: Looking again at GPS route, it's off for the the first 4km.

Tomies - Dinis

Damp evening, light drizzle falling for the walk through Tomies. Was walking with Eoin from work. Underfoot conditions got a bit messy after leaving the Tomies loop and then into the Rhodo tunnels. We'd the climbing done so mainly downhill from here, some bits rougher than others.

The log bridge over a deep stream gully was very slippy in walking boots.

Long descent then down through the Rhodos coming out at Glena cottage. A few midges here. Then on the flat back towards the marshes before Old Weir Bridge. Got wet in the marshes again and path got small at times.

Didn't take long to get to the Old Weir Bridge and then out onto the road back to the car at Dinis. Weather improved for last bit in the open, drizzle eased for an hour, but came back with a vengeance later.

2 episodes of Big Bang Theory.

Poor nights sleep last night, not happy. Hoping for better sleep tonight.

Change of plan for tomorrow, going walking with one of my work colleagues and maybe more, plan is to go from Tomies to Dinish.
