Probably a small bit better today. Decided that Turbo trainer will be my friend this week and won't have zero training hours to my name by this time next week.

Should be starting the 5k in Killarney now, but i'm not, heading to the doctor instead.

Lying in bed before my alarm went off I reckoned that I needed to go the doctor. When I got up I felt better so decided I would race. Packed my gear and hit the road. Pulled over before Farranfore and rang doctors. Chest is not right.

To say i'm pissed off with my chest would be an understatement, not happy.

(sick)

Diagnosis was that it's not a chest infection. Instead it's an allergic reaction in my lung, to what exactly I don't know. Got some antibiotics and they're for 9 days. Never asked if I could train or not, but probably sensible to leave it for a few days. I'm also being sent for a chest x-ray next week and probably will have to get some allergy tests done!!!

slept:7.5 (rest day)

Today is a planned rest day but would've anyway. Chest still not right but I don't think it's a chest infection. What it feels like is what happened in Norway last year when a hospital couldn't find anything wrong with me. Hopefully it's better tomorrow as I want to have a go at my 5k pb.

Note

Will have to take a rest day next Wednesday as i'll be getting the keys to the house i'm going renting in Muckross. Although throwing running gear in the car and going for a run from the house would also be an option.

Chest still not right so I think i'll rest it today to see if that helps. If it doesn't I'm kinda stuck on ideas regarding what's wrong. Doesn't feel like a full chest infection but definitely a shortness of breath at the moment.

Went on big ring this evening as I wanted to put more effort in. Decided to read as I was after getting into the book, Cussler.

Think my chest is acting up at night time, was fine during the day.

Legs are getting a bit tired but will rest them on Friday before racing hard on Saturday.

Last 2 nights have been bad sleep wise. Also think that I may have a chest infection, bit caught. Running tonight will sound it out. And i'll know in the morning either way.

O'Riada's, loop from there.

Think I was a bit paranoid earlier, chest survived although HR did creep up fairly high in the later part of the run. Pace was faster this week than last, maybe 1.5minutes faster.

Nice evening. Apart from some wind which was coming from the east, so ran into that to finish. Hill at the start was a bit easier than last week. Legs were more tired this week. Really need to watch the body though, don't want to push too hard and end up in trouble. Only myself and Jerry this week, 2 other lads couldn't make it.

Bad sleep last night.

Body is feeling a bit tired this morning, not too bad, but won't be in a rush up any stairs today. On the positive side my calves and achilles feel fine which i'm happy about. Will stretch them a good bit between now and road run tomorrow.

Plan for the week:
Today - Turbo Trainer, high cadence, low resistance.
Tomorrow - Road, 40 odd minutes same as last week
Wednesday - Turbo Trainer, longer than an hour with increased resistance
Thursday - Glanageenty (2 laps) in the dark
Friday - Rest or short turbo trainer session, see how I feel
Saturday - 5km race in Killarney
Sunday - Orienteering race in Killarney
5 PM

Turbo Trainer 51:50 [1]
ahr:104 max:121

Avg Cadence = 82rpm

Just span the legs for an episode of Game of Thrones. They weren't that tired. Even increased resistance slightly by messing with gears as started off too easy.
