Tralee-Derrymore-Tralee

Lying in bed this morning after eating my breakfast I realised that the day was too good to waste and even though I'm on a break from training I felt the urge to get out and do something, so went and pumped my tyres and off I went for a cycle.

Chilly day so I must have looked like a steam train with my breath! There was a white crown on the Slieve Mish mountains and on Brandon, so further evidence of the cold. Couldn't find a second glove to go under my cycling gloves so had to go without.

Only went off time today, wasn't out for speed, but HR seemed a bit high when I looked at it, either I was trying a bit too hard or the cold/sick i'm feeling might have been the cause.

Note

Plan for the week is to do nothing. Will get a physio session on Thursday to try and fix the knee fully, and then orienteering is in Muckross next Sunday which is the start of 5 months training to bring me up to the JK next year.

(rest day)

Still resting. Knee still feels a bit odd at times but noticing it less walking now. Feel like I might be getting a cold so need to sort that out.

No plans for this weekend, don't think i'll make it out to Crohane unless I can get the stupid printer to work before I go home for work, and a cycle is also being considered for tomorrow morning if the weather is good, nothing too serious, just an easy spin.

I'm so glad i'm not training in these hurricane type days. Can't be any worse when I start training again next week.
