Tralee-Reanagowan-Castleisland-Tralee. Legs were tired before I started but had to go training. Lovely evening so no excuse. Headed off at a steady pace but it was only when I caught 2 people on the way up to the dump and went flying past them that I felt some strength in my legs. Passed some flay bog after Reanagowan, passed it before, but this evening I noticed heather and I wondered could I run on it! After passing through Castleisland I noticed a bunch of 6 cyclists on the road in front of me, maybe 50m. They had come from a different direction into Castleisland. I pushed a bit harder to stay behind them. I felt I had 3 options:
1. Push it hard, pass them and then try and stay ahead of them all the way to Tralee.
2. Join the end of the group, but I didn't know them.
3. Stay a respectable distance behind them and use them to set the pace home.
I chose option 3, which like 1 was a tough option as there was a headwind all the way back, I have faced stronger in recent months though. Cycling behind these lads who didn't seem to be sharing riding at the front passed the time nicely back to Tralee. The group split at the Earl of Desmond so I followed 3 of them into Tralee. At the end there was only 1 left so I chatted to him for a couple of minutes while stuck at traffic lights. Overall I was happy with tonights cycle, and my legs have that nice tired feeling this evening.
