Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle. Very happy with how I did this year, 1 hour faster than last year, but didn't tear my hamstring and missalign my pelvis 2 weeks before this years event. 7.40 is total time which includes breaks. 6.45 would be saddle time. Queueing for toilets and food in Cahersiveen probably cost me 10mins. Last year i'd very big trouble going up Molls gap but this year I destroyed the hill, tailwind helped but I was really feeling good for the last 30km. Rain came down very heavy once I got to the top and was a scary 20km downhill to Killarney. A big bus slowed me down but I probably needed to as I was cycling very close to the edge. Did have one very scary moment when I caught the bus and it braked, rear wheel skidded in the rain but I managed to gain control. I paced the first half of the cycle well, despite the headwind to Cahersiveen and Waterville. Had no problems going up to Coomakista either. Overall it was a very satisfying day out. Body doesn't feel too bad the day after either so back training tomorrow, might even try running!

Soccer 45 [3]

Soccer. This evening there were only 10 players so it was 5 a side. The pitch was also shortened. Did a fair bit of running but my team didn't do so well!

Tralee-Farranfore-Castlemaine-Tralee. Kept a good steady pace for the cycle. Nothing too interesting happened this evening. Felt in good enough shape coming up the main climb before the descent into Tralee. Probably a better pace than the last time I did this hill.
