Tralee-Ballymacelligot CofI-Tralee. This route was not what my original plan was, had intened to go Farranfore-Castlemaine but not long out the road I decided that getting up at 9.45 to go cycling after getting to bed at 5.30 was not a good idea. Body did not want to be on a bike, it wanted to be in bed.

Tralee-Ardfert-Fenit-Tralee. Nice evening tonight but didn't feel that energetic. The reason energy levels were low might have had to do with the 160 miles of driving I did for the day in a hot car for worked. Did enjoy the cycle as I felt a lot better after it than I did before.

Tralee-Reanagowan Cross-Castleisland-Tralee. Hadn't cycled this route before but had driven the first part, drove Reanagowan Cross-Castleisland once but wasn't much use cycling. Weather was good. The first part of the cycle was uphill before a descent, then more uphill. No more climb after 25km so 2nd part was downhill or flat. Chain did come off when I got onto the N21 above Casteisland but no big deal, just got oily hands. The trip back in from Castleisland was much better than last Saturday as I'd a tailwind not a headwind. Makes a big difference as it's a very open road. Was happy with the pace I kept back home.

Soccer 50:00 [4]

Weather was good tonight. Numbers were down so it was 5 against 4, I was on the team with the greater number. Pitch was also shortened and I did a good but of running. Physio afterwards was tough though, body needed to rest afterwards.

Tralee-Castlemain Road-Sliabh Mish Masts-Tralee. Did this cycle last year and wanted to do it from the other side. Hill out from Tralee is long followed by an even longer descent. Then the real fun started on the narrow road which had been recently resurfaced, would be lethal coming down with loose stones in the centre and to the sides. I knew that I had to make it or else would have to go back down, pedal clips would have made it impossible to start again if I stopped. I really enjoyed pushing myself towards the top which was very steep, possible gradient of 18%. The first climb out from Tralee was 178m which took me 14mins from the bottom with the main climb being 326m in 18mins. Not sure of the distance for the climbs, second would have been a lot shorter.
