Muckross

Decided to wear Inov8s this evening in anticipation of muddy tracks, BAD DECISION. As it turns out they were fine, recent weather had dried them a bit, and then to compound matters my torch battery died so had to adjust my route home.

Torch just stopped on the descent from the high point so switched it back on again, died, so then tried the lower setting and that stayed on until the Old Kenmare Road. Decided to turn around then and take the road home. Fished back-up torch out of the pocket, doesn't really shed much light on things. Headed down the road from the Upper Torc Car Park. Was thinking of going all the way around on the Main Road but with my running gear this evening, including tights, all black, decided to take a short cut in along the low track coming out on my side of Blue Pool. Did have a reflective arm band that also flashes.

Tried the torch after coming off the road and it lasted a minute. Track was grand to run on but not much light. Think I upped the pace on the climb home.

Calves were a bit sore running, so really undecided on what to do training wise tomorrow. Legs also felt a bit tired. Option would be to turbo tomorrow, run Thursday and also turbo Friday. Turbo would at least allow some recovery time. Will pack gear for a track session and decide at some stage.
