I've been meaning to run on these trails for over a year but never made it out. El Naranco, same mountain as usual, but on the far side with some pretty steep climbs. Easy to do a lot of climb in a relatively short distance.

I took the poles with me, in practice for next week, and they were easy to run with and very helpful on the climbs. These steep climbs demand a nice rhythm more than anything else to keep moving well.
My toe twinged with pain once or twice but it feels decent now which is encouraging as today was a tough test for it. This mountain has so many trails to explore that I have no idea about. Half an hour cycle to cut out so much flat running distance to get to it.

Toe feeling pain free now but still very stiff. However I was able to go for a longer cycle today. Really sunny which was nice but made sure to bring my camelback to have some water.
I got to go up the final climb of what will be Stage 9 of La Vuelta this year. It was long and tough but never really too steep which was nice. I wouldn't be able to cycle up the trails that I run up, they're far steeper. Then there was a bit of undulating gravel track where I was very hesitant on the steeper downhills, something to work on. Then road all the way back.

After a week of rest it was time to do something even if my toe is not fully back to normal. Nice to get out for a cycle and went out just after a heavy downpour. I passed a guy who had flipped his car on the wet road and asked if he was alright to which he said "it was raining so much man", which I took for he was alright.
Hopefully the toe doesn't become painful and I'll be able for a few more cycles this week.
