I started in Cruagh and made my way along the fireroad until I could cut up to the boardwalk. From there it was only a short way to the cairn at the summit of Cruagh. I stayed in the terrain and headed for Glendoo. I didn't have a map so when I got there I wasn't too sure. I was looking for a cairn but didn't see one although I was sure I was close. I headed back down towards the boardwalk but stayed in the terrain. I met Ger Cunningham here, who was doing a recce for the Dublin Peaks and he said Glendoo summit was a bend in a fence as opposed to a summit so I had found it after all. Then once I was back to the boardwalk I took the same route back. I guess around 50% of the run was in terrain, if I knew the area better (or looked at the map) I guess I could get up to the terrain quicker than the route I took. Really enjoyed being out on the mountain, rather than just running trails. My legs were sore after yesterday so kept it slow and steady.
