I started in Cruagh and made my way along the fireroad until I could cut up to the boardwalk. From there it was only a short way to the cairn at the summit of Cruagh. I stayed in the terrain and headed for Glendoo. I didn't have a map so when I got there I wasn't too sure. I was looking for a cairn but didn't see one although I was sure I was close. I headed back down towards the boardwalk but stayed in the terrain. I met Ger Cunningham here, who was doing a recce for the Dublin Peaks and he said Glendoo summit was a bend in a fence as opposed to a summit so I had found it after all. Then once I was back to the boardwalk I took the same route back. I guess around 50% of the run was in terrain, if I knew the area better (or looked at the map) I guess I could get up to the terrain quicker than the route I took. Really enjoyed being out on the mountain, rather than just running trails. My legs were sore after yesterday so kept it slow and steady.

Lug Relay Leg 3. Really enjoyed this, it was tough. I was pretty happy with how I went after the break from training. Struggled with a stitch and cramp from the top of Lugnaquilla but that's to be expected at this stage of the season. Fortunately Ben had given me a sufficient gap and Cillin couldn't quite close it, but did come close towards the end!
