Orienteering 43:05 [5] **** 6.0 km (7:11 / km) +150m 6:23 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212

Went off 5 seconds down! Even though I went slowly, I missed 1 with about 2 minutes. Frustrating but then I spiked two. Overshot 3. Had problems with 4 and I'm sure the map was off here. One side of the path just was not set right with the other side. Also missed time on 8 with Bill Edwards being a distraction. From here in I went clean.
Just disappointed with the beginning of the course. I could have given Jonathan some more time on Ger.

Before the race I knew that it was getting close for selections. I guessed that this race would come close to deciding it so this really motivated me to run hard and orienteer well.
I started off quite apprehensive just to get into the map and get some confidence. Went a bit wide on 4. Could see the fence junction below me so I veered right into the control.
Then had a mistake on 7. This was around 2 minutes. I'm not sure what happened but I got it fine when I relocated off the large marsh above the control.
Went well and ran well until 10. Then on 11, I took a precise bearing. I came about 150 meters to the right of the control. I had also come a bit right to 10 on a smaller bearing. I think the compass has run it's course. Just over a minute missed here.
Then I ran clean for the rest of the course.
When I finished I was a bit nervous about how costly my mistakes would be. But clearly I kept it cleaner then most and ran well otherwise. Happy with the position as even without the mistakes I would have struggled to do Jack's time!

Orienteering 22:51 [4] *** 3.11 km (7:21 / km) +100m 6:20 / km

Did a really bad race. Head wasn't there at all. Forgot descriptions with the rush of my late start but began ok. Got 1 fine. After that it just didn't work. Wasn't reading enough detail if any detail

Warmed up with an exercise to follow the index-contour. Went fine

Orienteering 17:01 [4] 2.72 km (6:15 / km) +100m 5:17 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212

Orienteering at race pace. Everyone did a leg and the pace was too fast. Unfortunately I missed mine. Came in on no real bearing when leaving attackpoint. Relocation sucked too. Enjoyable though :D
2 PM

Orienteering 20:50 [2] **** 2.98 km (6:59 / km) +25m 6:43 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212

Downhill course. Really tricky in places as you must read everything to hit the control. Unfortunately I didn't. Didn't run my own race and didn't run technically over speed
