Orienteering 1:34:36 [3] ***** 5.56 km (17:01 / km) +250m 13:53 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212

Needed a run again. Even better that it was in terrain. Also my first taste of French forests. [Prepoulain - 1:15000]
It was hard. Really hard. Physically and technically. The 1:15000 was difficult to read on the run so a lot of walking. Need one of those magnifying glasses on my compass. Loved it though. Quite an adventure.
Did some good controls, mostly good. Just struggled to get into the selective mapping. But copped it better by the end.
Had one LARGE mistake ca. 10 minutes. I was reading from one to control to another but actually running from a control 100 metres further back! With loads of paths running perpendicularly along the leg I was always working a path too close. Eventually relocated but had spent so long and was lower down.. So I left it.
Overall I can see how you can get good in the terrain. Just practice, practice, practice. The map was quite simplified and the paths very indistinct. Will learn more tomorrow on 1:10000
