Cardio 37:50 [3] 2.22 mi (17:02 / mi) +1m 17:01 / mi

BHS track, Sat eve of Labor Day weekend. had the place to myself. Sunny but pleasantly dry & cool. Had Letchworth maps with me that, by chance, were on top of the map desk from putting there a long while ago w/o any specific reason. Surprised to see it was only 3 yrs ago that we were last there. Don't think so this month though.

Weightexercise workout 35:00 [1]

Usual at Y. Went to BHS for the track but full of football practice. Similar across from Cilley on Mocha walk but pee-wee types.

Walking 1:05:48 intensity: (25:48 @1) + (40:00 @3) 1.8 mi (36:33 / mi) +13m 35:45 / mi

Hike with Hans Bengtsson and two old Swedish friends who were visiting (they'd never been to US @ 74 & 72 yrs.). Relentlessly up for the most part with lots of rocks and exposed roots, much like the good old NH Whites. Another destination with great views.

After had a fun dinner with Hans & Lena & Torbein and Brigitte at their place. I hadn't been to 17 Spring St. for maybe 5 yrs. Hans turned 80 this summer. Hans & Lena went to Sweden, rendezvousing with their daughters & families, in part to see the farm where Hans grew up. Hans was at the O-ringen and Scottish 6-day. Enjoyed looking at his maps. Torbein is an equally keen orienteer. H said they'd be at the Pawtuckaway meet, for part at least. A nice O evening, past and present.

Mt. Battie "carriage" road in Camden Hills SP. Hadn't been there since maybe 1990 with Cabot on a winter walk. Up & up, decently OOB. On the dark side to make woods paths attractive. Great views of Penobscot surroundings and Camden at the foot of the hill.

Orienteering 1:25:25 [2] 3.02 mi (28:17 / mi) +159m 24:19 / mi

O at BB. Thick start but then veg eased and it was generally pleasant. Slow but accurate. One foot in the mud and not too many mosquitoes. One lone lady runner on a trail. No entry fee collectors today.
