Running warm up/down 5:00 [1] 0.3 km (16:40 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talons

This was cut short because I suddenly spotted Alistair coming up the funnel and it was a rush to get to the handover in time.

Orienteering race 26:36 [5] **** 3.5 km (7:36 / km) +115m 6:32 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talons

Got the first few well, but felt my legs up the path leaving the first section, after crossing the bridge for the first time they felt warmed up though, then lost a bit on the first control in the upper woods, thought my attackpoint was where the control was, but in fact I was 40m further along the edge of the woods, so went to the worng two bell pits, then pulled away from Matt N on the map change, somehow overtook Chris Y in there as well, then I was hesitant before the spectator as I came across a bridge I didn't expect, ended up just behind Dane and Matt entering the final part, took different route choices to Dane, but similar to Matt and ended up in the middle on the run in.
I was suprised when I discovered the two leading teams had Mispunched so I had inadvertently come in first.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talons

Orienteering race 1:04:56 [5] *** 7.0 km (9:17 / km) +235m 7:57 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talons

Was doing fine, with only my route choice on the long leg (me not being brave enough to thrash through the brashings up the hill) and straying into the rockson the steeper slope letting me down, then got tired and had moments of complete stupidity where I just switched off and lost about 3 mins just because I didn't read the map and spot the control was in the woods not the open, finished 4th equal, but would have been 1 second quicker if I had heard the finish box the first time.

Running (Wednesday Run) 58:00 [3] 10.0 km (5:48 / km)
shoes: New balance 760

From the Lomas's with John, at an easy pace but still a reasonable distance, everybody else thought we were going the wrong way, as we kept meeting them going in the opposite direction.

Only the planner beat me tonight, and even he was only 43 seconds ahead.
