NORTHERN CHAMPS

had a pretty good run, nailed 1 to 4 which were all in this nice fast runnable forest. then messed up 5, should have taken a bearing but didnt for some reason. so plus 2 minutes there but relocated off a boulder on the ridge which was the ridge which the control was further along. could see 6 from 5 but was knee deep heather put good effort in going though but was kanckering feel over couple of times but its all good! had seen people going straight to 7 on different courses but going slow going up the ridge gradually at an angle so i just went straight up and after about 150m it wasnt as deep on top so i could open up a bit more. 8 was fine. 9 was long leg and was fine. did the tricky area fine then out and up for a quick loop on the moor and back in the tricky area then into the woods near the start which was nice and fast and challening in its own way, remindeed me off the lakes. then long leg out the woods back into the tricky area for the last 4 controls which were on a slope to the finish zig zaging. was pleased with my race ran quite hard after my mistake to gain time back and quite good navigation. probally could have got around 45 whith out the mistake. beat everyone quite comfortably which was good and am now northern champion :D

FFC sprint M16 where part of the seeded start for some reason but was good! did well in the park bit left the park and was 30 seconds up on most people. the park was good but had 3 butterfly loops which were rubbish as they went everywhere which made it hard to read the map and there were aload of chinise at the barbuque control :@ not a fan of the maze plus 25-30 seconds. then the control after 2 routes one looks alot longer but after working out probally simlair but should have gone the other way. then into the stadium where it was pitch black where i got the womens control, plus 20 seconds to get mine after runnign past. then little mistake on the stairs one was at the top when it was at the bottom. overall average race only adam that beat me but without the stupid mistakes would have gone about 13.30 i think. but wasnt a proper sprint race to be honest, small o flags, maze, to much butterflys in a small space making map reading hard and then a werid bit in newcastle ground. oh well this race didnt matter :D

went for a wee in some concuil esate before as the toilets were to far away then jumped a small stair set on the way back and nearly landed in the side of a car driving down the road, was about 30cm of it :P

missed track training as my dad had the car for the doctors and didnt get back in time so got dropped off at the track and went for a run in the town and towards the uni and industrail park. worked out to be jut over 10k. gps and time ran out of battery at 19 mins were i had done 4.6k.

4k run started off fast as i wanted get as quick as i could! still can get quicker just start off at a fast pace. 3k next as thats what sames to be important in orienteering, hopefully get low 10 minutes
