Orienteering race 1:08:43 [3] 4.71 km (14:35 / km) +130m 12:49 / km

Bentley Woods South. Short Green. 3.7k/125m. Pleased to spike #1 quickly but then sadly got very confused amongst the ditches and marshes on route to #2. I should have run around the paths and forest road! lost about 9 minutes! All went well until #8-#9 when I 'made the map fit' wrongly! Still enjoyed being out in the woods and the challenge:-)

Note: Unbeknown to me I was bitten on both lower legs by Blandford Fly's at this event. Symptoms were not appararent until the next morning. Tried anti-histamines and cream and went to see GP on Thursday. 250mg flucloxacillin and anti-histamines prescribed. Terrible night Friday and I was at out-of-hours GP surgery on Saturday. More anti-histamine. Symptoms did not improve and worsened Monday so back to my GP on Tuesday who prescribed 500mg flucloxocillin and piriton to help me rest. Also a 4 day sick note:-) Thankfully recovered swiftly - GP called Thursday to make sure I was OK or he would have admitted me to hospital for intraveneous anti-biotics!

Orienteering race (Night Urban score) 42:59 [3] 4.93 km (8:43 / km) +44m 8:21 / km

HALO Pub League - Kirton-in-Lindsey. Night Urban Score. Stayed fine and dry. Enjoyed it and managed to spike 20/25 possible controls. Armchair geeking following the race showed that I could have easily spiked 1 more control (possibly 2). Quite pleased for an evening event and still struggling with sinusis and stress/fatigue (mum in hospital).
