Again, it looks like failure to plan was the root cause.

Errors (time):
- 2 (1m24s)
- 11 (3m11s)
- 12 (26s)
- 14 (57s)
Total time: 5m54s

Cause:
I do think a lot of this was due to the rocky ground. Just getting across the terrain was surprisingly difficult and I didn't execute my process properly because of it.

Solution:
- Continue to train map reading.
- Recognize when I don't have plan and slow down or stop until I have one.
- Train more in rocky terrain?

Leaving your house at 4am and driving for 6hrs certainly doesn't help your mental processes. But this still turned out alright.

From the routegadget, I can see where I was hesitant and not planning out routes properly. This cost me time on 5 and 12. I could have been much more efficient if I had taken the time to plan.

Errors (time):
-5 (27s)
-12 (40s)
-14 (15s)
-15 (36s)
-18 (55s)
-19 (35s)
-22 (18s)
Total time: 3m46s

Cause:
The root cause of all of these errors was a failure to plan. This was in part because of the rocky terrain. I usually take the first 10 seconds after a control to jog and plan the next leg, but I struggled to do that here because of how rocky the ground was. It took me longer to plan than normal.

Solution:
- Continue to train map reading
- Recognize when I don't have plan and slow down or stop until I have one.

Hills with the ESU guys. I took a break on one of the intervals since I haven't done a workout with breaks that short in a long time.

Forgot what it was like to work out with others. Really, really helpful.

Back to runs in cold rain! On the positive side, this is what the relay was like in Norway. So at least I had two more months of pleasant weather : )

Today and yesterday were mostly spent proofing the maps, checking the vegetation, the boulders, what I had missed.

I was amazed at how accurately I was able to map the boulders. I only found three spots where I had missed one or two boulders. Everything else was correct. Now I just have to make sure everything complies with the minimum sizes.

I did two short courses on today's map. This area is less a rock maze than it is a slope with a plethora of boulders and a lack of other prominent features. It was pretty tough navigation and there was very rocky footing in some areas that slowed things down. Still fun though.
