Note

A fine end to WOC week with the French boys finally getting the gold they deserve after so many years. There was a lot of exciting spectating over the web; I can only imagine what it must have been like sur place. Nice to see the Irish finish off the week with a fine 22nd place in the Men's Relay.

Now, if only...
- IOF would realise technical = good
- IOF would realise middle = really good
- IOF would realise low-visibility technical relay = really really good

- IOF would realise chasing start = bloody awful.

Looking forward to updates from the banquet.

Note

From WoO translation of TG's interview, post middle:
- I worked hard on developing a new technique to handle the terrain here, but in fact I did not even need it. I started out with the new technique, but then the visibility was so good that I could return to my normal technique. Looking far ahead to see the easily identifiable features, and run fast through the terrain

Note

No surprise Tero won again today. He sounded disappointed that the race wasn't especially technical. Poor guy, and the poor people who compete for 2nd.

Maybe they have kept the interesting terrain for the relay.

I'm really happy Thierry won the Long. The world is now a better place. And France was spared one almighty strop.

Is he the tallest and heaviest man to win WOC Long/Classic?

Inspired by Thierry and Annika and Marc and Ali and Carol and Pasi and Minna, ahem, and the beautiful weather, went out exploring.

Found some nice trails down the road from work, Kitchawan Preserve and a little trespassing in IBM property...
