9 AM

Hiking warm up/down 25:00 [2] 2.5 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Black Jalas

Walk to start with a little bit of jogging to warm up.
10 AM

Orienteering race 52:49 [4] **** 4.5 km (11:44 / km) +150m 10:04 / km
spiked:10/12c shoes: Black Jalas

Red middle distance at Team Trails on Blue Mountain map. Great technical course. Did well when I read the map. Didn't read the map on the way to #5 and got way to the left and quite a bit downhill - cost me 6 minutes. Misread things in the vicinity of #7 and lost another 3 minutes. Very humid after an early morning thunderstorm. Finished about middle of the pack among all Red runners (including F21 team trialers). Straight line distance 3.8 km (actual distance estimated since FR took the weekend off).
4 PM

Hiking 1:00:00 [1] 3.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

An impromptu hike along the Hudson (and back through the woods a bit further inland) at Mills-Norrie SP. Pace was pretty relaxed (actually out about two hours but that included checking out the 79-room mansion from the outside). Saw two pileated woodpeckers as we bushwacked from the river trail inland.

Orienteering race 2:02:44 [4] **** 10.5 km (11:41 / km) +400m 9:49 / km
spiked:13/17c shoes: Black Jalas

Red course at Team Trials on Blue Mountain map. Great map, course and terrain. Orienteering not good - lost 20+ min total on 4 controls. Lost map contact mid-route to 5, 8 and 15. Distracted by others leaving 12 and wandered for way too long (~10 min) until I figured out where I was. Hot (low 80's), which is only part of the cause. FR didn't want to wake up so distance is estimated. Straight line distance was 8.6 km. Climb is actual on the routes I took.

Trail Run 49:13 intensity: (2:11 @1) + (19:00 @2) + (25:18 @3) + (2:44 @4) 4.88 mi (10:05 / mi) +182m 9:02 / mi
ahr:130 max:149 shoes: NB 874

At Kennedy Park in Lenox, MA. Tried to keep an easy pace but it's hard to do here since it's pretty hilly. A hot day with temps in the low 80's.
