RC 65th birthday run, Ballogie to Ballater via south Glen Cat track, the big Birse hill, south Glen Tanar ridge - Mt Keen, Glen Tanar and over the hill to Ballater. Right knee started niggling after about an hour then developed into the same issue as on the big Braeriach run last summer. Downhill felt crap while uphill and flat fine. Slowed everything down a fair bit (my bad), so run was barely under 7 hours total… for 39km, 1700m.
Knee fine afterwards - it is caused by ITB pulling on insertion point on outside of knee.
Anyway a good time ( at least for much of the run) and good to get a long run in again after a fair break due to too much survey.
