steady run 54:00 [3]

Braemar Electric car park to hills race route. Felt fine on flat but hills a real struggle -legs felt stuffed after yesterday.
Nasty wind and rain/hail on climb. Cleared a bit fir descent. Saw a white hare - it was going faster uphill than I was down! The big line was running with water - felt I was waterskiing at times:-)
Not a single person on the hill (v different to 2previous visits!).

To start and back plus there again and some round and about, trying not to look at the hill too closely... It was big and steep.

orienteering race 36:00 [5]

CompassSport Trophy - so got to run Green :-) 3.8km 210m
1st, 30 secs ahead of JT. *
Clean first control then huge leg with only really one option - up and then contour in. Ground out the hill and good line towards control then switched off, missed it slightly high and stood for 30-40 secs trying to work things out. Eventually realised it had to be behind and below me and got it (all on an open hillside...)
Clean after this with just one hesitation at 6 where I misread map and stopped on first steep bank rather than heading up to second steep bank, realised fairly quickly.
JT took 90 secs out of me 1-2 but then missed 4 so I regained lead there, but never more than a minute ahead!
Pleased with nav (2 hiccups aside) and did try to keep pushing to end. Hope I can get in a few harder sessions before JK or else M60 could be painful!
* but 8 mins down on JH...

Lap of Dess Woods - first time since clearing of windblown... large areas totally cleared out! Not much forest left :-(
Legs fine early on then adductors whingeing big time - probably hang-over from Tuesday night intervals.

Survey Sluie. Lots of walking and not too many places with wind damage - a couple of bad areas but much untouched.
Legs drained - prob from Tuesday so took it easy up the hills :-)

Checking Sluie for windblown - rather a lot :-( but only in places :-)

Intervals 15:00 [5]

Deeside Runners 20x200m 1minute recovery A guess at time as not logging each interval - assuming 45secs
Started OK then from 6 onwards had some struggles in last 25-30% of interval -breathing getting really ragged. But pleased to grind it out.

Extended warm-up then to green and back. Feeling pretty wrecked at end. Tomorrow ain’t gonna be pretty..,

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Tough session -lots of abs and shoulders, will be stiff tomorrow.
Left knee almost totally OK - just unable to bend back 100% -prob at about 99.
But both calf’s a bit tight -probably from wearing studs all day Saturday (11hours)
