orienteering 1:20:00 [3]

Control collecting at Birsemore - I won hte jackpot and got the southern (high) controls. A bit of a plod up the Fungle but then a lovely slalom through the best bits of the forest and a gentle jog down the Fungle with a dozen controls. Very enjoyable and such a great area.

steady run 10:00 [3]

Wsrm up along riverbank path showing off the dented Cambus bridge

steady run 25:00 [3]

To start point of control pick and back. Lovely path up from A93 to near Cnoc Dubh

steady run 10:00 [3]

From start of afternoon exercise to car park - every time I run on Muir of Dinnet I see extra boulders...

Note

Legs feeling a lot better today

orienteering 45:00 [3]

Hanging kites for ScotJOS training tomorrow. Nothing in the legs on uphills or rough ground, but very pleasant anyway - glorious area and best time of year for it.

Note

coaching at MoD - largely waking with some easy running. Out for about 80 mins

orienteering 42:00 [3]

Continued to hang controls for ScotJOS training - some lovely woods and not all been tracked up/brashed by forestry works.

orienteering 34:00 [3]

Hanging and collecting after-school controls. V tired by end (and hungry).

steady run warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Needed a decent warm-up due to yesterdays session still in my legs.

orienteering race 46:00 [5]

DNC Glen Dye, lovely area, great course (managed to avoid the felling) but placing reflectors on the ground isn't really in the spirit of night-O...
Pleased with technique, mostly had a good plan and executed it well, got a bit scratchy once E overtook me and I tried to up the pace to hang on.
Legs felt poor on long track run but OK in terrain (maybe going a bit slower uses different muscles?).

steady run warm up/down 46:00 [3]

to Fungle with Deeside Runners plus jogs down and back

Intervals hills 20:00 [5]

Fungle 10 x 2 with jog back, starting every 4.5. Tough session, first one was desperate - breathing and heart not fully warmed up so grovelling by end. Then eased into it, gradually dropping distance, but only 10-15m difference between best and worst.
Glad to have it done, much helped by the large group form DR!
Lovely mild night, wearing too much for intervals.

Note

surveying 4 hours at Scone Palace, lots of changes!

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

good session

steady run 25:00 [3]

After-school run club with RC, SR & IW. steady to castle grounds then relays and (inevitably) man-hunt. Leaders did shockingly badly - we're not very nimble!
