Intervals 12:00 [5]

Wanted to do some intervals - too long since last set. But didn't want a rally heavy session so opted for short with long recovery, 12x1+1. Did them on railway line towards Aboyne. Felt much better than yesterday during my warm-up (same route), then git stuck into session. Nothing earth shattering but felt good to run fast and managed to hold together till the end of the set.
Glad to have got it done, will see what tomorrow brings in terms of stiffness/apin.

steady run 33:00 [3]

Home to Aboyne, feeling totally drained.

orienteering 40:00 [3]

Hanging controls - still struggling, looking for lost junior (they re-appeared ) and collecting controls. Feeling much better by end, not sure if post lunch dip or th extra food I had during coaching kicked in.

orienteering 1:00:00 [2]

shadowing round DNC short course. Very pleasant despite cold wet feet :-)
Modified time to 60 mins - probably a more realistic moving time - out for nearly 2 hours, though about 20-25 mins talking at controls.

x-c skiing 2:00:00 [3]

With S, up west end of Pannanich forest to summit then down ridge to east. Great day, blue skies, lots of snow. V windy on summit but sheltered lower down. Hard work on climb but a previous skier had started the tracks! Downhill wasn't quite the swoosh down we hoped for - had to plod most of it - snow too soft and deep. But a few nice glides on steeper bits and only one wee tumble near hte end - legs getting tired! Plod back along road at end but good fun.

steady run 1:04:00 [3]

Wasn't up for 4x6mins so headed off with S and WB for a lap of Aboyne. Warm-up had taken us almost to garage so headed into Castle woods, Deeside Way to west then back along riverbank path to bridge. Out longer than planned but very pleasant. Legs felt OK on flats but heavy on any (very small) climbs.

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

steady run 37:00 [3]

Lap of Dess Woods in dark - lots of snow around and more falling :-) Feeling a bit tired leg-wise but not too bad given conditions.
Run-club cancelled (and most pupils sent home on buses after lunch anyway!)
