steady run 3:15:00 [3]

With S (and KH for part) up Buachille EtiveMor and sort halong ridge to new Munro.
Hard work up to plateau then some steady running along much of the ridge. Food wobble near final summit but OK after eating. Tough but good track down from col then lovely run out on path along stream. Legs a bit tired from previous day (descent had hit quads a bit) but mostly felt OK.

steady run 1:30:00 [3]

Up Pap of Glencoe with S, KH and RB. Almost all walking but working hard and sweating buckets in the humidity. Then a quick whizz down to E in van.

Note

walk up from Kinlochleven while waiting for the Aonach Eagach group to return. Still warm and really humid.
Out about 1 hour

steady run 1:37:00 [3]

With SR & RB from Aboyne bridge to Carn Ferg via Fungle and long way round, then back via games track and some off-road to get to Cistern track. Fine on uphills and rough ground but getting dropped at end - they're seriously quick on flat (and I'm horribly slow on flat at present...).
Legs felt strong on climbs, so good to keep going on hills - keep the legs for a while longer :-)

steady run 34:00 [3]

Lap of Dess Woods and fields. Feeling tired and legs not working very smoothly, but satisfied with time for loop.

Tuesday Aug 6, 2019 #

Note

Several hours more hedge work - clearing cuttings and shaving more sections, maybe 1 more session to get it finished for another 2-3 years!

Intervals hills 18:00 [5]

6x3mins on Horrible Hill, Glen Tanar. Wasn't looking forward to this, feeling tired and stiff from gardening work but hung on during the warm-up (seemed awful quick) and then took hills steady, well down on first but gradually got better distance and felt really strong (albeit at a slow pace). Must be effect of time at altitude and lots of big climb days (1000m+) in the Dolomites.

steady run warm up/down 45:00 [3]

To bottom of hill and back from top. Return seemed awful quick as well... Glad we weren't doing flat intervals, think I'd have been found out :-)

cycling 52:00 [3]

Dinnet to home (after dropping van for service). Deeside Way to Aboyne then A93 to Kinker and Deeside Way home. Very pleasant though puddles a bit large at start!

Note

plenty of outdoor work, clearing drains, brushing slabs and cutting hedge (start of). Stiff and a bit achey afterwards.
