Intervals hills 21:00 [5]

Hills up Tullich Mast track with S. 5x4 (last one just over 5 mins). Track icy on second half but managed to run OK uphill (came back down near powering ride to avoid the ice).
Feeling heavy legged but not too bad after yesterday. Right calf a bit tight on ball of muscle on inside, the sore bit I found last night was on the outside...

steady run warm up/down 48:00 [3]

From Balater centre to hill and back, feeling slow on warm-up and very tired on return plus R calf very achy - eased off quite a bit 3 hours later, need to do more rolling/massage this evening.

steady run 2:40:00 [3]

Bennachie and Millstone Hill with S, SR and RB. Steady start trying t gently warm-up (lots of sheet ice early on), then worked up Millstone Hill and lovely single track off SW side, then big bad forest road - lots of ice, slush then snow higher up. Long grind up it. Track on moor was no better - slush, snow and running water! Bailed out of long option and headed back with S and SR over Oxen Craig and Mither Tap - couldn't stand on summits due to wind (and lost hat - blown away...). Calf gradually got a bit grumbly but nothing too sore. Need to do more rolling and stretching to loosen it off.
Pleased to have survived the time - but a more "running" long run might have found out my calf.

steady run 37:00 [3]

Lap of Dess Woods with S. Wet and windy for much of it but actually enjoyed the weather - at least mush of the old snow is gone... shame the ice is still deadly in too many places...

Note

Surveying 6.5 hours. Tired at end - lots of walking and no breaks.

steady run warm up/down 5:00 [3]

Minimal, but had been out for half hour gardening earlier in day ;-)

orienteering race 44:00 [5]

Deeside Night Cup, Glen Dye. Good course and lovely forest - as runnable as it gets with bracken well down. Felt good in terrain but legs a bit struggling on the hills (after last night). Caught by AC at 4 then took radical route to 6 - up fence line and cross open area. Ended up a bit high (aiming for 7 for some reason) and ended up losing 2 mins to AC (though TBH he was going uphills better than me). Went flat out form here - really pushing the downs, pleased I was racing so well, caught E at 9 and managed to hold him off on run-in... just :-)

steady run warm up/down 34:00 [3]

To start and from end plus recovery between intervals. Definitely need longer warm-up!

Intervals 20:00 [5]

5x4+2 on Rhu-na-Haven Road and Barclay Park loop. Started slowly and gradually got better. Right lower hamstring just a wee bit any by end, but nothing too bad at all. Well off the pace but glad to get through it without any serious tweaks :-)

steady run 15:00 [3]

Wee trot round Hill of Banchory. Went anti-clockwise for first time ever - always the rebel... :-)

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]
