New Year's day adventure. Parked at Glen Girnock and wandered west through the wood towards the river, east along bank till we found an abandoned fishing hut (slightly moved from original location and a wee bit squint but it provided shelter). Started a wee fire, cooked sausages and marshmallows. All the time the snow/sleet came and went intermittently. A great start to the year. Walking about an hour.
River bank and new flood channels are amazing with huge gouges in some parts and massive sand/shingle deposits elsewhere. Never seen so many huge trees washed down a Scottish river.

steady run 15:00 [3]

Bit of zig-zagging around paths from home, trying to avoid too much climb. Abdomen feeling a bit crampy on downhills.

steady run 10:08 [3]

Potties bridge along Deeside Way towards Kinker, not the flattest section but managed it! Lots of little aches and pains came and went but nothing bad.
Only 24 days since last session so maybe not too much damage done...

Note

Collecting tapes from Thierry weekend. Walking briskly through the loveliest bit of Muir of Dinnet. Feeling pretty good but paid the price after lunch - hour+ sleep in front of fire... Maybe not completely over things yet :-)

Thursday Dec 29, 2016 #

Note

River Dee footpath to west from Mill of Dess. Viewing the remains of last winters storm damage. Out about 90 mins.

Wednesday Dec 28, 2016 #

Note

Vat Burn, up gorge and back down footpath out about 90 mins

Tuesday Dec 27, 2016 #

Note

Lap of Loch Kinord from Dinnet out for 85 mins.

Note

Walk over Craigendarroch with S & E. Lovely snow underfoot but chilly wind and slightly wet snow falling. Long way up the hill! Out for 70 mins (doing less than 4km, by E's new Garmin).
