steady run 1:10:00 [3]

Tower of Ess to Osprey track and back to Braeloine. Very pleasant run and good company. Another hot sunny day!

steady run 5:00:00 [3]

(Estimate of time) Dubh Loch round, Glen Muick car park, Broad Cairn, Carn Bannock, Carn Sagairt Mor, Carn Sagairt Beag, The Stuic, Lochnagar, back via Glas Allt. Fantastic day - warm, sunny and mostly cloud free. Views got hazy later but everything close by was visible. Pace slow to steady, lots of walking on uphills. Finished with sit in river for 10 minutes. Legs feeling good after.

Note

Rest day - 8 hours in bus to Scottish Schools. Good results for Aboyne area schools and Banchory schools did pretty well too!

Thursday Jun 2, 2016 #

Note

Rest day, legs sore after last 2 days efforts.

Wednesday Jun 1, 2016 #

orienteering 44:00 [5]

WTT (Wednesday Technical Training), a new Maroc innovation (alright, nicked from HSK training!)
Sluice Woods. mass start, regroup at 4,7 & 11. 5km. No control flags out but runners encouraged to bring GPS watches and e-mail gpx files for loading onto common site after.
Worked fairly well for a first effort, but map really creaking - 12 years since last update...
Running well but some woeful orienteering (never reached 4, waited at wrong crag for 2 mins then left!). Dragged off by others on some other occasions and compass work was sloppy (as usual).

Note

4 hours surveying, another dreadful day - sunny, warm, lovely area, Lidar base map ;-)

Intervals 13:00 [5]

Deeside way 1+1 set - aimed for 12 then one for luck (blitzed it then collapsed in a quivering heap). Felt better than for a long time doing intervals, not sure why - just off 2 weeks of lots of long slow running - maybe thats what I need?

steady run warm up/down 40:00 [3]

Steady down hill on Deeside Way than a few drills and strides to loosen legs. Bit of a grovel back home after the intervals.

steady run 14:00 [3]

Easy run round Hill of Banchory.

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Mathwork, tried not working too hard - to avoid any issues of right bum nerve problems.
