Note

Rest day - visited various old burial sites, rock carvings and stone circles between Halden and Fredrickstad. Grey day with a chilly breeze. Legs tired on any uphill.

orienteering 40:00 [3]

Hanging controls for E in local woods, then back along course looking for dropped control flag! Then back to last couple of controls to collect after E had passed through.

orienteering 1:13:00 [3]

With S to drop E at a birthday party then back via a long loop into Struppe across R21 and into woods to west of house. Pretty grotty afternoon and getting dark by 3pm... Legs very tired - not food shortage or sore, just worn out muscles.

Friday Dec 18, 2015 #

Note

1 hour surveying, finishing off a block. Mild and windy.

steady run 21:00 [3]

Short run to shops and back - hungry so bought more than planned, heavy rucksack on return!

orienteering 1:22:00 [3]

Høiås training. Shadowed a junior round part of the "moment bona". Pretty good at the map reading but compass work was a bit wayward. Felt tired legs towards end, terrain is really heavy and wet just now. Not helped by drizzle and fog creating backscatter from head torch light.

Wednesday Dec 16, 2015 #

Note

3 hours surveying, temp has risen to above freezing but that meant that all the first on the small birch scrub was wet and sticky - so I got soaked through the morning...

steady run 39:00 [3]

In the woods - small paths and then onto Lysløpe for return - it was getting dark and the lights came on. Legs feeling a bit tired but nothing sore or damaged.

Tuesday Dec 15, 2015 #

Note

Survey fail... drove to area but it was thick fog and frozen and dark, so drove home again - there's no pressure to rush the map!

steady run warm up/down 35:00 [3]

Warm up and down on roads and at track.

Track Race 11:42 [3]

3km time trial at Halden track. No flood lights - but frost on ground and reflected light from low clouds meant no head torch was fine. Heavy frost, -5C, ran in dobbs.
Started steadily and kept things pretty even throughout race. Pushed on last 600m.
splits: 0-46, 1-33, 1-35, 1-35, 1-35, 1-33, 1-29.
Pretty happy with it as a session, legs felt pretty good and managed to push harder at end. Next time I'll have to start a wee bit faster and see what I can do.

stretching 10:00 [1]

Monday Dec 14, 2015 #

steady run warm up/down 21:00 [3]

Run to and from strength training at Gimle skole.

Strength 1:00:00 [2]

HSK strength - took it easy as planning on doing a time trial tomorrow.

Note

3 hours surveying, cold crisp day, just not sunny :(
