orienteering race 26:00 [5]

VHI, MWM course, 3rd leg, started first and finished first - just ahead of NB - sweet :-)
Tried to run hard but was very careful in control circles to avoid any errors. Only saw NB approaching last control and was fairly happy he wasn't going to catch me.
Great first leg from JT and second from JP.
Achilles a little more tender but still not bad at all.

orienteering race 54:00 [5]

VHI M50, 1st. Caught CH at 6 and then did my best to drop him - never really managed it. Enough to win. Pleased with run - lost about 30 secs in race (ignoring the mis-placed control - leg removed).
Achilles was noticeable a little bit but not sore at end - just the tiniest bit tender. I think hard ground and speed is the problem so plodding in O on soft ground is fine - yahoo!

Over to Pitmurchie Road via field then over to Torphins and back via diagonal road past the gloomy house and then Deeside Way to check the brambles - lots of ripe fruit!

Collecting a few controls in Bellwood for after-school club. None nicked by locals this time ;-)

With S, Deeside Way towards Kinker, 5x2+1. Right achilles aching and got quite sore afterwards despite icing it. Still not good... need to try to resolve it - more work at icing, exercises and maybe anti-inflammatories.
