orienteering race 1:08:25 [5]

SOL at Alvie, short brown. 1st by 5 secs over Ben Stansfield. Felt terrible warming up but started well - clean and pushing (7 out of first 8 fastest splits) then long uphill leg and I started to fall apart slowly. Really struggled in tougher running and fell over a lot. Was 12 secs down at last control but Ben must have walked to finish line so I won by 5 secs!
Serious recovery needed next week.

Hill Race race 54:54 [5]

Morven Hill Race. Good run, but horribly hard, worked at ;limit on first steep climb and then tried to hang in, struggled on next 2 climbs and lost one place (to a Cosmics....). Turned at top well off front group (approx 2 - 3 mins behind them), then good descent, lost another 12 secs to Cosmics guy but managed to stay ahead of Ewen (falling stone) K and Stuart, so pleased (3 secs ahead at end!).
Felt dreadful after, drove to Glenmore YH, dinner and bed by 8-45.

8 hours survey, legs tired at start and blaeberry growth didn't help! Perked up after lunch. Good day and dry.

Intervals 16:00 [5]

Aboyne to gliding strip 8x2+1. Felt good at start and pushing well, meant that return was hellish hard - only gained 16 seconds over the 8 minutes - far less than normal. Last 2 intervals were particularly gritty.
Good session and pleased with how sprightly I felt. Hope I feel as good on saturday at Morven hill race.
