orienteering 26:00 [3]

Hanging controls in Docharn & Deishar.

orienteering race 1:00:00 [5]

Anagach event. Brown course, ran very cleanly, 2nd (a long way) behind James T. Pleased with navigation, legs Ok early on - but technique a little scrappy, then legs got tired but O focus improved, nearly caught Josh and saw him several times in the distance, but never got closer. James overtook me twice - both times across a marsh then up a heathery hill which I had to walk.
Maybe there is a chance at the JK - I'm orienteering really well when I focus and I'm strong in terrain, just need to hope leg speed will be OK in fast open areas.....

steady run 55:00 [3]

Deeside Way west, along to White Cottgae, down towards horse palce, turn left and past the other Gardens Cottage, down to river bank and along towards Kinker, up to Deeside Road, across and up to Deeside Way, up this to home.
Started feeling pretty heavy legged and right SI a bit tight. Relaxed into run and feeling fine by end. Cool breeze but warmed up once once it was behind me!

Intervals 20:00 [5]

Deeside Way from Victory Hall in Aboyne - 5x4+2. Feeling a bit apprehensive but got into the work and pushing hard by end. Not sure how it would compare with the other oldies in Deeside Runners, but felt hard enough for me today!
Lovely day - warm sun (shorts and t-shirt) but strong westerly, first 1 1/2 intervals were in shelter of trees but after for second half of 2 and first half of 3 straight into it - tough going. Turned at half way through 3 and flew back - between 15 and 20 seconds further on return on each interval!

steady run warm up/down 35:00 [3]

Decent warm-up and jog back (started intervals at bend in Deeside Way after big houses on main Deeside Road. Right SI joint still a little tight, but stretched during and after and it seems OK.

Note

Surveying 2 hours, nice and easy - school grounds!

steady run 54:00 [3]

Clatterin Bridge up stream then second right and up this to larger track, back over to col, up to summit and back along traversing path, down gully to teashop and back to car. Very pleasant run, some nice parts of the stream gorge lower down. Lots of tracks higher on moors (killing fields for grouse), could be a decent approach to hills to west of Cairn O'Mount.

steady run 22:00 [3]

Lovely morning and got to Banchory early so a longer run than usual - woods drying out nicely - just one wet patch, near a house build site - probably drainage messed up by ground work.

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Tough session lots of foam roller based exercises - will probably suffer tomorrow....
