orienteering 1:00:00 [4]

Collecting controls at Wood of Easter Clune. Took group on top of hill to get a decent run (did not run due to mapping area). Very pleasant run, lots of huge blaeberries at top of hill.... worth a visit soon.

Saturday Oct 5, 2013 #

steady run 10:00 [3]

Checking a few controls in Banchory. Approx 2.5 hours placing controls, walking pace.

Friday Oct 4, 2013 #

Intervals 20:00 [5]

10x2+1 on Dess-Lumphanan road. Pushing well on first half (almost all gently uphill). A bit stuffed on return, but held things together.

steady run warm up/down 36:00 [3]

Route - Deeside Way, along Lumphanan road, then back through Dess Woods. Pretty done in on return - had to walk parts of all uphill sections through woods. Good session and felt smooth ans strong in legs - despite circuits last night.

stretching 15:00 [1]

Thursday Oct 3, 2013 #

Note

5 hours surveying, mix of bike and foot.

steady run 10:00 [3]

Easy run in Aboyne before circuits.

Circuits 1:00:00 [2]

Ruth's circuits at Aboyne. Took steady, nothing too bad... lets wait till tomorrow to find out damage.

stretching 15:00 [1]

Stretched at home as had to leave circuits early to pick up Ewan from cubs.

Wednesday Oct 2, 2013 #

Note

4 hours surveying, chilly wind.

steady run 46:00 [3]

Easier run than last few weeks - along Deeside Way to near gliding strip, down and back along riverbank path, along Rhu-na_haven Road and back to bank to bridge, then along and finished across green. Nice flat run and legs felt much better and brighter at end, good choice. Will try to do intervals on Friday now.

Tuesday Oct 1, 2013 #

steady run 1:50:00 [3]

Guiding for Running the Highlands - took short day of RUTH (Run Up The Highlands) - from Lochnagar distillery via various points of interest in Balmoral to Keiloch car park on Invercauld Estate. Very pleasant group (10 runners), and all very well behaved - all stopped when I asked, didn't run off and get lost etc, even ate the berries I recommended ;-) Probably because they have done 42 miles in the previous 2 days and oodles of climbing/descending.

Monday Sep 30, 2013 #

steady run 18:00 [3]

Wee run in Hill of Banchory, lots of brambles.... but many at dog leg height...... maybe give them a miss!

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Good session - lots of dynamic moves. Some aches from shoulders, arms and back after weights yesterday.

steady run 15:00 [3]

After school athletics club - a bit of running, sprints etc.
