Maroc club run at Balmoral - checking out some patches of forest - nice mix of mature plantation and old growth pine forest, lots of rock (!) and good areas of contour shape and detail. Will be a cracking area once mapped.
9 JonM,JM+ Milo,SD, JessM, RMc, NC, AC,IC, DT, plus TC, GC and Ewan on a bike ride.
Pouring rain on way to forest but cleared up and only a few drizzly bits but basically dry, glad to have chosen a 10am start rather than 9-30!

Fungle 12x1+1. Tired after yesterdays run and had to really focus to keep any pace. Last one had a longer break as we dropped back down track from heavy snow! Some patches of snow on the track at higher levels and patches in forest from bottom of hill (by CompassSport Cup start).

Decent length warm up to foot of Fungle from Victory Hall and return via Cistern Track - a right mess now after forestry work. Its amazing that farmers are facing ever tighter environmental controls but foresters get away with ever increasing destruction of the forest with larger and heavier machines - knee deep or ever waist deep wallows, marshes churned to mud, ancient tracks destroyed, tractor lines every 10-15m across the forest.

Aboyne on Tarland Way then right through Coull and up onto Maortlich, back via Aboyne Loch. Pleasant run though a little raw. Plenty of snow patches on Mortlich and track pretty wet in bits. Feeling tired, a shame as I'm about to have 3 hard days on the trot.....

Glen Tanar with Deeside Runners, 8x2+1 round 2 bridges loop, decent turn-out but only 5 doing these intervals and only 3 by end! Feeling very sluggish but kept working away. Good session to have done.
